Wow, what a great place to celebrate a special occasion. By far the nicest spa experience my wife and I have had. We booked a one hour couples massage. Each massage takes place in a private suite with a fireplace, Jacuzzi tub, and steam shower with 9 shower heads. The package begins 30 minutes prior to the massage with private time in the suite for a steam shower or soak in the tub. We arrived 1 hour prior to the massage and were shown to the room early which was fantastic. The massages were great and we finished with an additional 30 minutes of private time in the suite. The staff were very helpful and we were never rushed and the facilities were amazing. We are definitely looking forward to our next trip to the Walden spa.

This little gem is practically in my backyard. A 3 mile hop/skip. The staff - from reception through the providers, all make you feel welcome, and leave you feeling distressed, pampered and pretty! They offer hair, nails, traditional spa services, plus have many extras. Thai massage, Vichy suite, and yoga are offerings outside the normal fare. I enjoy all of the spa professionals, but cannot say enough about Sherri. She listens to you and customizes your treatment. If you really want to savor the experience, STAY THE NIGHT. You will get to experience something not open to the public - The Barn at Walden. Tasteful gourmet, served in a very private and warm atmosphere. Accessible by interstate 480 East, or Rt. 82 in Aurora.

This is my third visit to Spa Walden. Each time I have been enveloped by the tranquility of the surroundings. I have been to many spas all around the world and this one is right up there with the best and it is located practically in my back yard. There are many unique features at Spa Walden, but by far the best is that I have 30 minutes before my procedure to soak in the free standing jetted tub and 30 minutes afterwards to utilize the steam shower. Your procedure comes to you! No more walking around in common areas in a skimpy robe.Your private room is beautifully appointed with all the amenities. I started out with a glass of champagne and ended with a relaxing read on the window day bed with an herbal tea- you are pampered the entire time. To finish off your day, I recommend a wonderful dinner at the Barn restaurant nearby.

We all deserve to treat ourselves well once in a while. And after such a dreary, long & bitter cold winter, there's not much better (locally) than to spend a day at Aurora's Walden Spa.I treated myself to the all-day "her" package, which included very much for the $410 price. Let me start by saying !every dollar! invested here in your self indulgence is well spent. The grounds are clean and modern. The greeting staff friendly from the get-go. I was led to a private suite, thermal jacuzzi already warm and bubbling, and steam shower running. I was given one half hour to just unwind and relax privately (as I was informed it takes the body a full 25 minutes to get to a relaxed state). While sipping on some cucumber-mint tea with chocolate in the jacuzzi, I could have been happy left alone there for the rest of the afternoon. But after winding down for those first few minutes, I was brought a complimentary glass of merlot, and started the 90 minute coconut scrub, which in itself is a full head-to-toe massage. Following that was the pumpkin detox wrap, where my body was tightly wound into a thermal blanket (feeling very much like a 'hug' -pure warmth and peace-). While laying comfortably and soundly (like a baby), my scalp was then massaged. The wrap/detox is finished (after the full 90 minutes of hands-on continuous treatment) with a rinse in the spa's amazing multi-head shower. Then onto the 60 minute full body massage (geared to the customer's specific preference/style). This massage was perfect! After relaxing, a half hour is given to break up the afternoon, where a lunch is served room side (or one can walk to the fireplace down the stairs) and pick from a menu of multiple options for a light sandwich or salad. The facial (including another hands/arms massage) takes up the final 60 minute treatment, before wrapping up the entire day with 30 minutes more to rinse in the shower, lay/rest, or jacuzzi one more time. Each suite has a private bathroom stall, necessities, and room temperature control to preference. The only criticism, which I would hardly say is one, is that the light in the room was more potent than I expected. But masks covered my eyes when I was lying face up on the comfortable heated massage table. The music was never too loud, always relaxing, and varying over the full six hours. I had Sheryl for scrub/wrap/massage, and Amanda for facial. The final bill included gratuity and facility fee (but note the gratuity for the service was only 10%, so if you feel like you had quality service -as I expect you will- be sure to add what you are comfortable with to the final bill.I never felt rushed. And I certainly never felt like one single minute was wasted. Every minute of every treatment was used with hands on care (ie., if a face mask was drying, the hands/feet were being massaged). I've been to facials in the past where 20 minutes of my hour was spent sitting and having a mask air dry…while the technician left the room --> I don't like when that happens.I WILL RETURN, and highly recommend. I left with a coupon/voucher for a wonderful (too good to pass up) promotion for a future visit. Though it's an indulgence I can't myself afford to do regularly, it was certainly worth every penny. One final note: if you don't spend an entire day doing a package, and prefer one and only treatment, I suggest picking a 90 minute body wrap. It essentially includes a full body scrub with a shortened massage, and I believe before and after treatment time for use of in-room jacuzzi/shower/sauna.

For my 35th birthday, my husband wanted to surprise me but he was worried because I am very hard to please. I have very high expectations for service, food, spa, atmosphere, etc.We drove 2.5 hours to Spa Walden in Aurora, Ohio. It was worth the drive.Spa Services: I had a pumpkin detox wrap, massage and facial and spa lunch. My wrap was very relaxing. It started with a scrub, and then I was covered in an organic pumpkin mask. While we waited for the mask to absorb and dry, my therapist massaged my scalp. My massage therapist, Jeff was the best I have ever had. He is knowledgeable and skilled. He knows his anatomy inside and out, from origin to insertion and knows how to break up those muscle adhesions without causing pain. My facial was very relaxing. I fell asleep.Atmosphere: The spa and inn were very relaxing. Not like a regular hotel but I felt like we were in a friend's upscale cabin with high ceilings and glass windowed hallways. It was beautiful and comfortable and upscale but not pretentious or cold. I felt like we were at home. Each spa suite is equipped with steam shower and Jacuzzi tub. My husband joined me in the hot tub before my treatments. it was very romantic. Hot tea/coffee and chocolate was provided.Food: Lunch was light and very tasty. We had chicken bitikar and chicken cesar with anchovies....loved having lunch by the fireplace with a beautiful view of the trees and snow...sitting in my robe and spa walden socks. :)The Inn: Our room was 1250 square feet. It was a loft room equipped with fireplace, hot tub, and a huge shower. The beds were very comfortable. I just sank in and did not want to get out. The fire was right in front of our bed and sinking into such a comfortable bed with cookies and milk from room service, looking at the high ceilings...it was so relaxing. I even considered and talked to my husband about buying a house in this "Walden" neighbourhood. They offer custom built homes. They also offer horse back riding, cross country skiing, golf, etc. We will definitely be back. This will be our new home away from home.

everything you could need in the room. Lots of space. Great services. Even had extra time at start to relax in the spa in the jacuzzi.

Although I have not stayed here, I have toured the facility. It is well designed and executed; the rooms are large and beautifully decorated yet still has the sense of comfort in a luxurious resort. This spa resort has been designated 5 star. Rates seem a bit high but if you desire the best, the price seems justified. The atmosphere is enticing; you will not want to leave!

This spa is my second favorite spa in the world! Grand wailea in Maui is my favorite. But, it just has a uniqueness to it that is second to none. Very clean, nice, modern and warm. It's just a nice way to spend a cold winter's afternoon! I love it here. Very, very nice. We are lucky to have this inn and spa in Ohio!

I travel a lot for work, and stay at beautiful hotels and always take a peek at their spa's. Spa Walden right in my own backyard is fabulous! The first time I went in May, my boyfriend and I had a couples suite. This is a must! You get a private Jacuzzi, a shower with about 8-10 shower heads, and your own private steam room. The suite is stocked with tea, toiletries, slippers and a bathrobe. The last time that I went I was with a party, I did feel a little rushed, and they didn't allow me to choose what aroma therapy I wanted. Otherwise it was just as fabulous.

This is the best Spa in the area. I have gone to a couple of others and vote this at the top of the list. The minute you turn into the driveway it seems as though you are in comfort. Walking into the facility was just as comforting with the aroma's of essential oils, softly dimmed lights along with relaxing music playing. When they take you into the spa room that is very large you will really start to wind down and relax. There is every comfort and more than you can imagine. Plus it is all yours. Not sharing and sitting in a room with others. Complete relaxation if you ask me. You have plenty of time before your massage to close your mind off to everyday stress, get into your warm and cozy robe and enjoy a cup of warm tea. The massage was wonderful! The facility is spic and span clean and will for sure be #1 on your list when you give it a try.

This was my second visit to Walden Spa in Aurora and it was wonderful. The ladies are so professional and welcoming every time. The suites are beautiful, the hot tub is wonderful and it was just great overall, once again!! My massage therapist was so sweet and gave me such a great massage!

This is top notch service. It is more pricey than surrounding spas but worth it. The idea of staying in one room with a hot tub shower steam bathroom ect is great. I was rushed one time but the other times it was very relaxing.

goohiostate

Nobody rushed us; the massage was great; and the experience before and after the massage in the private room (e.g., hot-tub, steam shower) was very nice.

I go whenever I'm in town and am always pleased. Therapists are top notch. Facility is extremely personal and appealing. Highly recommended.
