If you want your kids to learn about sealife and nature, this is the place! I have camped with the scouts there in the past and the staff is wonderful with the kids. There is a marsh wetland on the property and plenty of hands-on things to do there. A must see!

The ELC is perfectly situated on the shores of the Indian River lagoon and is a vital resource for the local community, providing information about the ecosystem and the challenges facing the lagoon.

The Environmental Learning Center is a great experience. Take the kids for super hands on learning. The mix of indoor and outdoor learning makes for a fun day. We saw a bonnet head shark and other interesting fish on our journey. The gift shop is terrific!

It was our first visit and plan to return with kids and grandkids in tow. Great, safe boardwalks through the mangroves. Our 2 yo can run out his energy and then touch the animals in the touch tank.

We did a canoe excursion in the lagoon and enjoyed in very much. The $15/person price was reasonable and the guides were helpful and knowledgable. And they were concerned about safety, etc. which was very reassuring to us. We chose a canoe trip, but they do kayaks too. We also wandered around on our own after the trip, but that wasn't our focus. But it would be a pleasant and educational experience for all ages, I think. Check their website for trip times and options...reservations are definitely needed and most trips do fill up. I'd recommend it. First Saturday of each month is free admission, too (not free excursions, of course).

we had an overcast day and decided to head to the ECL. We walked the paths and trails and encountered a variety of wild life. There is a story book that kids can follow and read throughout the paths. The highlight is the touch tank where once we washed our hands were able to hold a variety of little creatures, like horseshoe crabs and some urchins. we were able to take a lot of photos and the volunteer here was so willing to share info on them and the Indian River Lagoon itself. The manatee skeleton was amazing to look at also. Will visit again

We spent a pleasant couple hours here. The kids loved the trails and trying to find the tree crabs. They also enjoyed the 'hands on' aspects.

small, free but good knowledge about our oceans, short film explaining what you will see. They were busy so we were on our own after the film. Could take as long as we wanted.

This is a real asset to the area. Their programs for kids and adults are both excellent. It is well worth visiting to find out all the special programs they offer.
