Many seats in the shade, we sat near the MLB scouts. Easy parking and exit in the outfield lot. Surprising that no vendors sold beer or food at the seats.

saw a spring training game and great atmosphere! a fun and inexpensive way to spend an afternoon. bring lots of sunscreen and a hat!

We were seated in section JFRS10 great seats ....but don't sit there. Why? The management chooses to have some mustached, gum chewing uniformed police officer walk out toward the foul line between every half inning and during pitcher changes. I estimate between the start and end of the game he was on the field and in my direct line of vision for more than 40 minutes. Maybe it's just me but I resent paying $27.00 for a seat and be "subjected"' to this kind of nonsense. All I could think was HOMELAND SECURITY would be so proud!. His constant presence ruined the experience for me.You don't see this at any other spring training site nor did I see it at a Univ. of Florida vs Univ. of Central Florida game. I just don't get it !.

So this ball park is in a run down old industrial area. The stadium does not have enough of its own parking so businesses and people sell parking in the area. The food is nothing special just typical ball park food. It would be nice to see local Pittsburgh foods like Mr T's pierogies sold at the park. The mascots were fun but need to be more active. May not ever go back to this park again.

Well i used to work for PNC park in pittsburgh and i know how that ballpark is rated #1 well let me tell you that this field doesn't disappoint. So glad we moved down here and we can go to all the spring training games. After game i recommend to go to Anna Maria island. They have great choice of craft beers too. You really get a close up look at the players.

The field is nice, the restrooms are nice, my only issue would be the concessions. We waited in line for almost 3 full innings. We actually split up and the line I got into caught the line my fiancé was in. The elderly lady who was waiting on our original line was painfully slow, and she could have used some help.

Very basic, bare bones stadium. The score board gives you the basic info, unlike at Ed Smith Stadium in Sarasota, which shows pictures of each player as he's up at bat, his stats, background info, in additon to replays. If you're a diehard baseball fan, you may not miss these things, but if you are just there for the experience, you will likely be bored. Also, do everything you can to get a seat in the shade. The sun was brutal the day we were there and they have no seating in the shade in the outer rim of the stadium. Plenty of places to buy food and souvenirs, tables and benches in the sun, but nowhere to escape the sun and sit. Good place for hard core fans.

Had a great day watching spring training. Had a couple of beers and a hot dog. They have several different food options, very clean. Great day out.

Drive a block away for 5 dollar parking...not the 20 right across the street.go on 1st base side for less sun in your face. Outfield Bleacher seats have backs and some shade...in the 4th inning we moved out there from near 1st base to get a break from the sun. Generally a nice park, not exceptional.

I like watching major league baseball without the large crowds. Food and beer are a little overpriced, but the quality is much better than fair food. Would like to see the minor league team the Marauders this April.

What can I say? It's great for all baseball fans. Winter home to the Pittsburgh Pirates. It's been renovated with beer and hot dogs to be had by all. Take the family if you live here or are a tourist visiting our great west coast.

It reminds me of Forbes field in Pittsburgh. I could almost fell the ghost of the 60's Pirates on opening day. A beautiful place for baseball. The players are so close you can almost touch them.I close my eyes and I am transported back to Forbes field when I was a kid on opening day. Worth the trip always.

Love this small old time baseball field! We go every year during Spring training and have a wonderful time.

McKechnie Field is our favorite ball park in Florida. It has the best of old school and new school for baseball. The fans are close to the field and we've never had a bad seat. There are seats in the shade but most of them are season ticket holders. Sometimes they resell their tickets if they can't make it to the game so check out the seating chart before you buy tickets. If its 90 in the sun and you are a northerner it can be very hot. The ushers are very pleasant and interesting to talk to. Ticket prices are fair not overpriced.
