Start your Satursya off with a trip to the Saturday Market! There are things for everyone from food. Plants, lotions, crafts and fresh vegetables! If you have a dog, bring it with you because everyone has their animal. Nice selection of goodies!
This is a don't miss attraction in St Petersburg. Organic foods, craft cheeses, meats, pastas, and beautiful crafts are all available from local growers, producers and artisans. Outstanding, eclectic food vendors serve breakfast and lunch, and the center stage provides nonstop entertainment by local artists. Our favorite way to spend a Saturday morning!
This is the best market in the state! I have seen many and St Pete beats them all! Good food, music and all the crafts and new artists make it so much fun to stroll through and see everything. There are so many good deals to be had. It's so nice to just walk around and breathe in the fresh air from the Gulf and downtown St Pete is so cozy it makes you feel right at home. People bring their dogs and the kids love watching everything that's going on and for a little treat for themselves. Check this out, you will be so glad you did!
This was a great farmers market nestled in St Pete.Lots of vendors and amazing fresh veggies there was live music and food of all kinds fresh cut and live plants and every one was very nice this the the most dog friendly town I have ever seen too.A lot of the venders gave out tastes of their wears the honey was almost as good as back in Socal tried to bring some back but TSA took it.. Fargin Bastages!!The smells of the different vendors cooking food from Ethiopian to Mexican to Jamaican was amazing we ate a lot and had a great time
You can do some great dog watching and eat your way through the market. We will spend more time next visit for sure. A real jewel.
We were very pleased with the organic vegetables we purchased. A wide variety are available, and they are quite reasonably priced. We browsed the other booths, and tried coffee from two different ones, but are not really happy with coffee served from those thermal holding tanks. There are any number of booths to browse, but limited organics. Food selections are varied, which is nice to see. We liked that there was raw milk and cream available at one of the booths, although we did not purchase any as we were staying overnight in a local hotel, and had no way to keep it refrigerated. The place is busy, busy, busy and crowded with people and their dogs. Parking, as with any city large or small, is a challenge. We chose to park in the close by parking garage which charged a very fair $3 for all day. If you are visiting the area on a Saturday, definitely take the time to visit this market. It's not Santa Monica, but it's a nice local place for all that.
This is simply a spectacular local market full of so many food, art, and items that you may not find somewhere else! Do not eat anything before you go - there are so many things to eat that you will want all the room possible to try anything from natural smoothies, wood fired pizza, arepas, etc. Very kid friendly with lots of open land and parks to run around and tables with chairs with available restrooms nearby.Tip: Go early! Some of the best produce and items go early as does the easy and free parking on the streets (meters do not operate on Saturdays!).
Really enjoyed the wide variety of freshly prepared foods. Reminded me of the food trucks gathered in downtown Portland, Oregon.
If you come with an appetite and some money, you will get a great meal here AND the produce is amazing! The live entertainment was great....so much to see, do and hear...Bought such large carrots, I only used TWO to make supper for 7 of us and have two left for soup. All this for just $2!!!Put on your walking shoes and enjoy the day.PS The stadium offers inside bathrooms for the public use. Nice of them!
Great ethnic foods for breakfast Or lunch. Great produce and unique items (food and non food) to purchase and take home. Live music. Tables and chairs to rest while eating. Bring your doggie. $5 parking close. Real restrooms in the stadium next to the market. This outing is a favorite of guests but we go even when we don't have guests.
Had a great time at the downtown market. Didn't get there until 11 am on a gorgeous Saturday and the place was packed! The vendors were already sold out of some items. There was so much to see and lots of good food. Next time I will be there at 9 am when they open! Great place for dogs too and families but hold on to them if you get there late as it is very crowded.
We camp annually for two weeks at Fort de Soto park and come here to load up on supplies. Fresh fish - the vendor fileted our red snapper right in front of us. Fresh bread, strawberries, grass-fed beef. Lots of international prepared foods: we had breakfast and lunch here. Cool location right downtown. After we shopped, we wandered over to a little park and watched a Santa Claus parade. Lots of friendly and well-behaved dogs.
We visit on a weekly basis. Always a delight. Organic produce is fresh and beautifully set up.I pick up pork chops, raw milk, kettle corn and fruity popsicles. We have had lunch there on several occasions. The Thai place and the Mexican tamales are to die for.It is a must visit on Saturday morning in St Pete.
Visit the Saturday morning Farmer's Market. Not very large in size, but it is full of lovely surprises. I recommend walking around first there is such a variety. I liked the spirit of this event, so happy, with music playing and people enjoying themselves. Fresh fruit and vegetables, delicious breads, cheese, clothes, cosmetics and art were everywhere as were the many dogs. All well behaved and there seemed to be more of them then there were children. Just watch out for their paws and enjoy. Obviously, the locals know the market's location well, but for the tourists there could be a few direction signs from the bus terminal.
This is a must do activity. Everyone will find something to delight them. The food is an eclectic, international, homemade, delicious variety. Walk around first before deciding because every turn reveals something you really want most. There were homemade foods of every type, drinks, organic fruits/vegatables, toys, baskets, jewelry of all prices, and more items than I can remember. you will find everything there. Make sure to have a meal there - from several vendors.
