This street known as the Magnificent Mile is actually about three quarters of a mile in length lined with well known stores along both sides. It runs from the river and is easily walkable. If you are a UK visitor make sure you visit Macys near the 360 observatory for some great bargains. There are numerous hotels situatedon the street and in side streets off the avenue. Plus there are numerous eating establishments in the side streets catering for every palate.Recommend a visit to Ghirardellis if you love chocolate and ice cream !!!!! This is opposite Macys store. Please be aware that Macys fronts the avenue but is in fact part of a large 8 floor shopping mall most if which is to the rear of Macys

There are a lot of great shops here. The buildings are amazing and there are plenty of places to eat too. Even though we have a Crate and Barrel at home, I had a blast at this one because it has many floor (sorry, I lost track how many). My favorite store on this strip was the New Blackhawks store, located at 333 North Michigan Ave. There are so many great finds here that you cannot obtain anywhere else.

Don't overlook this section of Michigan Avenue. There's plenty of great shopping and restaurants to explore.

This is a beautiful street. The walk from the Chicago River to a mile north is truly fascinating, hence the name "Magnificent Mile." Be sure to spend time checking out the Tribune Tower with its souvenir "architectural elements" from Colonel McCormick's worldwide travels past the lovely Wrigley Building to Crate & Barrel (a Chicago original chain) to the designer shops in the area to the Old and new Water Towers. While Chicago is my home town, which I love, please beware of pickpockets. They thrive on distracted shoppers.

This is my go to whenever I feel like I need my spirits lifted. Michigan Ave has every store you can possibly imagine. It's a shoppers paradise. If you want to really enjoy North Michigan Ave or the Magnificent Mile, go during the Christmas season. The lights, the atmosphere and the people both residents and travels makes that time of year magical. It's a great romantic getaway for couples and also family friendly.

It has a variety of stores that are fun to explore. One of my favorites is crate and barrel. It is a wonderful place to people watch. They do a good job with their plants in the spring and summer in the planter boxes along the street

I stayed on N. Michigan on my recent trip to Chicago (at the Comfort Suites, which I give 5 stars!) and this location is great. Surrounded by great restaurants and bus stops and flawless architecture, this is the place to make your homebase while staying in Chicago.

What a wonderful area to shop and "people-watch"!! There is so much to do and see. Many of the stores are totally unique and not found elsewhere. We always visit that area whenever we are in Chicago.

We stayied at the Hard Rock hotel at 230 N. Michigan av. A great place to stay, and the best of it we had a Travel Zoo price break.Thats why we stayied there. You got to try Billygoats rest. and tavern at 60 Lake street, just one block away. Good affordable food, for breakfast and the lunch and dinner. Also there is a great little bakery that serves a good breakfast at a very reasonable price one block south and turn left towards the Trump tower. Its just a few feet from the intersection.

This is an amazing chance to see designer original clothing and even pick up a bargain! The people watching is exceptional and the shops are unique and interesting. Some are affordable for the "regular" people too! I found that sales associates were welcoming and attentive even though I wasn't obviously their target customer. Don't hesitate to enjoy this opportunity to explore how the other half lives!

North Michigan Avenue has all the best shopping in the world, all the big names are here. Plan to spend a day. Dining in the area is amazing. Visit the weekend before Thanksgiving for the spectacular Lights Festival.

North michigan avenue is beautiful in every season. Tree lighting in winters makes it even more beautiful in the evenings. No matter how freezing it is elsewhere, this place is always teeming with people!

Great area of the city to visit. It's expensive but hopping. There is a wide variety of restaurants nearby and plenty of shopping.

North Bridge and Water Tower place. Crazy busy with everyone huddled inside avoiding the harrowing wind, and nose numbing temps. But's that's winter in Chicago! Find a warm soup or hot chocolate at one of the many purveyors on the side streets of Michigan Ave. Bring your patience as it will be tested by street people and fellow travelers alike.

The restaurants and hotels are amazing, but the weather in ebruary was below zero. I much prefer Chicago in the summer or December
