Thank you Stagecoach Trails for providing the perfect family vacation for my family. We will return.
If you stay here you MUST love, adore and worship horses. I have never been so bored in my life. It is nothing like their website says. There were no extra activities in the evening. The pool is so small and not really nice although I hope it was clean. It was August but we payed a LOT of money and more effort should have been made to accommodate us. It was HOT and we expected that but we did not expect to have practically nothing to do from 9.00a.m to 5.00 p.m. The pool was so small with very little shade. The 'games' room needed a good clean with much better facilities. The one pool table was always occupied and needed to be replaced. The board games available were dusty, old and downright dirty. Books were not nice. I understand a place like this is obviously dusty, but this place was dirty. The horses seemed to be very happy and well kept. No problem there. The food was fantastic. There was plenty of it and it was really tasty. The rooms we stayed in were ok.once again I hope they were cleaned before we arrived. I hope the sheets were laundered properly before putting on the beds. The air conditioned units were really noisy and I didn't have a good nights sleep whilst I was there. There were no locks on the door! Hmmm. If you like riding, no sorry,LOVE horses and riding Im sure this is a wonderful place. One 'teacher' stands out and he knows it. Tex. However he needs to learn a few manners and to understand some people have personal problems and don't want to tell all. You must also make sure that they understand that you are an experienced rider or a novice rider. They do NOT cater for all. They take everybody out walking to begin with, no matter how experienced you are. Maybe I can understand this, but then unless you practically insist they treat experienced riders exactly the same as novice riders so it is very frustrating for people who can actually RIDE. My daughter and grand daughter were really disappointed as they were treated exactly like me, who hasn't ridden in fifty years. That was really wrong of them. Although this sounds like a negative review on the whole it isn't. I will never forget the food. I will never forget my little grand Daughter's face riding and galloping on the horses. But I was really bored. One very negative aspect - we left an I-pod in our room and when we realised we immediately emailed the ranch. This was about a fortnight ago. We still have not received a reply, the I Pod or any sort of recognition that they have received an email from us. We see from other reviews that the owners do reply so please owners can you reply to this because the I Pod WAS left in our chalet. Please realise to arrive at this ranch you have to drive for a good 45 minutes on a dirt track. It was scary, hot and so so so frightening. Never again.
We stayed two nights here with our two youths. Staff were really friendly amd accomodating, food was good, the apartment was as expected, what more can you ask? Well: Beautiful horses, friendly instructors, everything flexible and well thought out. The place was also beautiful, with well kept plants and equipment. The small desert squirrels and bunnies charmed us. We really re-lived some cowboy novel / movie memories here, trotting down dried out rivers in the sunset. I definitely recommend this place and these people. For europeans growing up with wild west popular culture, this will bring back a lot of memories.
A handicap accessible Dude Ranch! We enjoyed riding horses in the desert every day and night! Knowledgable guides informed us of the land's history.
This was my second trip to this wonderful ranch. I attend an annual spiritual retreat and these kind folks were happy to oblige us. Now, this group will be going back each year! The accommodations are cute, neat and clean. If you love the western experience, this is the place to go. Although in our venue, we do not ride the beautiful horses here, we still visit them. My husband and I and some of our friends plan a visit here soon to actually ride the horses. Your stay includes two trail rides daily and all of your meals. And I have to say, the food was wonderful. These great folks even cater to special diets, which I found amazing. I have to say that I look forward every year to my trip to the ranch!
Everything was wonderful. . . the food, the families, the horses, the staff. We've been going to Stagecoach Trails for the last 10 years, and we've always had a wonderful time. Get Wrangler Craig to sing for you. . . he sounds just like Elvis.
I LOVE this place! Perfect getaway from all the hustle and bustle of city life. Very friendly atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. Enough activities to enjoy but down time to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunsets and scenic mountain ranges. Healthy, hearty meals are included, not to mention delicious! The horseback riding is a bonus and lots of fun for all skill levels. It's the place to go to for the ultimate vacation experience!
You can't find a better ranch for the price!!! A great family run ranch, with great people, great horses, great food and great accommodations. You will find a two night stay is too short, I recommend a week if you can. This is a great place for any occasion even a family reunion and they offer disabled riding too. They go from the expert rider who can lope to the completely inexperienced rider who can learn from the cowboys and truly enjoy the ride. It's a place to leave life behind, relax by the pool, play ping pong, shoot pool, play games cards or horse shoes. Take a walk, watch the stars, have a picnic, and meet others. It's just the best place to have fun. I can't say enough about it.
i cannot say enough about my recent trip with 3 of my best pals from childhood to celebrate a big birthday for all of us. it is so far away from work, phones, car noise, airplane noise, people noise, the silence pairs up so exquisitely with the sunrise, sunsets, moon-rise of the harvest moon, and shooting stars, distant mountains. and then there is the staff, the horses, the accommodation, swinging on a swing with my pals enjoying sunset on the deck with a glass of wine ( bring your own wine or beer in, it is a long long drive to buy some!) . Rooms were clean, quiet , private patios. Dining room was easy, homey, the kind of house/home that i would want to be invited to. This is a perfect escape: book for more than a weekend or you will regret not staying longer! It is a perfect gal-pal destination or family week. this is like summer camp for adults/families. 3 of us had no recent experience on a horse, and we were all loving it and we were well matched with our horses. i learned to line dance!!!!! i learned to like country music! we had a gorgeous last night around a fire, under stars. it was a trip of firsts!!!! and bests!!!!! i wanna be a cowgirl when i grow up.
This ranch has it all! Beautiful, quiet and super relaxing! The head wrangler, Craig, will pair you up with the perfect horse for you to enhance your riding experience. no matter what level you ride at. The wranglers will always help you learn to ride or even to improve your skill. The rooms are large, clean and quiet. Each with it's own front porch and rocking chair to just chill in. All the meals are home cooked and you can often smelling them cooking up something delicious all day! All the staff are super friendly and will always go out of their way to make you comfortable. There is something for everyone here.
We had the most wonderful stay at Stagecoach Guest Ranch. From the moment we arrived the family and all the crew made us feel at home and ensured that our dream of riding horses in the desert came true. The scenery is beautiful, especially the sunsets and the early morning rides with Craig as our guide were so much fun. Home made meals and lovely accommodation, you could not ask for more. Wish we had more than 4 days as so sad to leave our lovely horses and new friends. Hopefully one day we shall go back, would recommend this place to anyone who loves open spaces, nature, horses and the opportunity to just enjoy peace and quiet. Best regards to all the family and staff who made this so special.
We had the best Tim. This family owned and operated ranch was so unique, the cowboy crew and horses were great fun, this place was hard to leave. They served wonderful food, and ensured all guests had a great time. It was so relaxing and yet great exercise. It really did my heart and head good. We cannot wait to book another trip !! I highly recommend trying this ranch out you will be hooked... Thanks stagecoach for a wonderful lift to my spirit!
Recommended stay time is several days to a week or more. All inclusive - You "want" for nothing except anyone you left at home because the scenery and experience needs to be shared with people you love! I went with my girlfriends and we all had such a great time. We are all in our 40s and 50s so spending a week together could have been "challenging" but the way the Ranch was designed everyone could find personal space if needed, but no one ever did. Everyone needs to experience this oasis from reality! The food was first class! Something for everyone (including vegetarians) The owners and hosts, Dan & Carrie Rynders treated us all like family. We were lucky enough to meet Carrie's Mom, Edith who was so nice and helpful. We were there on Mother's Day and enjoyed seeing three generations of Moms (Edith, Carrie and Vicki together. Luckily the family takes it easy on Sundays. The wranglers were so much fun, keeping our safety and comfort around the horses thier #1 priority. One of my friends was in a wheel chair and I am a stroke survivor so it was great for each of us to be included in every moment of every day. I have to admit, I did not feel my disabilities once the entire time I was there which was a vacation in itself. I want to thank my Rynders family the wranglers very much for my favorite vacation ever! God Bless you all for giving special needs folks freedom to live it up and be safe!
Even though my husband and I are by no means horse riders we loved the rides everyday and filled in our time with long walks taking in the beautiful scenery or just hanging out at the pool with our books. It was the most relaxing vacation we have ever gone on. At first we didn't want to write a review, we wanted this spot to be our little secret but every one needs to experience a rest from the rat race we are running in. The food was excellent and couldn't wait to see what the next meal would bring. The staff was so friendly we really felt like we were leaving home when our time was up. I would recommend this ranch to every one it was the most horsetastic vacation ever.
We just returned from an amazing 6 day stay at STGR. The riding, horses, and accommodations were great, but the hospitality of the staff really was above and beyond. I can't say much that hasn't already been said. We are already looking for an opportunity for a return visit. My 8 year old and 11 year old were 'loping' on their horses by day 2. The riding only got better from there! Last year, we made our first and only visit to Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando (~2 weeks). It was the best family vacation yet... until now. Our final night at STGR, my 11 year old turned to me and said that this vacation was even better than WDW! My 8 year old agreed!
