I like reading about all these old town history, and there's plenty there, staff very friendly and helpful with answereing your questions,its small but very pack full of all kinds of intresteting history, family history, to the old escalante restruant that once was, and how the town rebuild after a fire, yep old and new history

I was told by one of my customers to visit the museum and I was indeed pleasantly surprised.The museum for a small community has a very interesting interior with many items donated by locals. It is run by volunteers and the lady I met today, Liz Dawson was very friendly and knowledgeable about the museum and the area.if you are passing Ashfork between Williams and Seligman, it is definitely worth the stop to visit.

If you travel R66 and arrive in Ash Fork do call in. It is a small collection of all things from the area. Run by lovely, enthusiastic volunteers on donations only.

Don't miss this little gem. A little off the beaten path, but worth it. The retired volunteers were so helpful and informative. Lots of classic stuff to take pictures of. My favorite: you can put on a hat and pose with fake people playing a game of poker. Lots of props to add to your fun! A very nice gift shop as well.

I rated it a 4 because for a small museum it is very informative. It is free but they need donations. The man and his wife who seemed to run the place but were volunteers were very helpful and informative. There are many things from the early days and the Route 66 days. It is worth a stop as we did just to relax for a little while. You don't have to spend hours there so it is a good rest stop. We were on a motorcycle trip and just wanted a place to sit in the shade with a cool drink and snack (we had our own). The museum was a great diversion and it was air conditioned.

We've travelled through Ash Fork before whilst on Route 66 but this time noticed the sign pointing to the museum so called in & we're glad we did. Greeted by pleasant lady who was a long-time AF resident so knew the area well. Lots of artifacts etc relaing to AF along with an excellent model of the sadly now demolished Escalante Hotel. I wish I had a time machine to go back & see this hotel in its glory days! Good gift shop selling a wide range of goods at reasonable prices. However, the shop does not accept credit cards. All in all well worth visiting & would call again if we're passing that way. Check out the Ash Fork Historical Society's web site to learn more about this museum & the towns history. It's important that a place like Ash Fork has such an organisation to record its history for current & future generations.

Great little volunteer-run museum, focuses on local history but also Ash Fork's influence on Arizona history, having been a major rail hub. Some great exhibits, and plenty of attention from the staff. Nice little souvenir shop inside, and the bathroom was spotless. Time well spent. Great for history or railroad buffs.

Don't leave out Ash Fork on your next trip. The unassuming spot of a town leads right to a fabulous museum chock full of history. Totally worth the time. It is in the vacation center, which offers up a cool glass of water, restroom, some air conditioning and maps in you are in need.

We stopped here on Rte. 66 just for a hoot and holler.It was far more than we expected. Congratulations to the Ash Forkians for putting together a fascinating exhibit. These folks really care about their town and its history.I'm sure that kids would have just as much fun as adults. The docent was pleasant and pretty well informed.Worth visiting twice.

This small museum is a must see! Your kids will love the walk-in jail, the stenographer at work, the old fire truck, the dioramas and artifacts, etc, etc. Free, they encourage you to use their bathrooms and the docent is lovely, welcoming and informative. Easy to find! Right near the train station in Williams that takes you tot he Grand Canyon. Makes yesterday come alive! And it is FREE!

Spend a few minutes here and learn about this town's heyday. A huge building filled with everything from an old jail cell to Harvey House china. The elderly lady working there was super friendly and an Ash Fork native full of stories.

Petit musée sur la ville d'Ash Fork aux débuts du vingtième siècle (même si quelques pièces ramènent à des anecdotes plus anciennes) quand elle était un nœud ferroviaire et était une grande ville. Aujourd'hui elle ne compte plus que 10% de la population antérieure suite à la révolution de l'autoroute et aux technologies ferroviaires qui ne nécessitent plus des arrêts répétés. Musée tenu par des volontaires, couplé au syndicat d'initiative. Arrêt très intéressant par la qualité des commentaires et la gentillesse de notre guide. Possibilité de voir de très près une Ford T et deux camions de pompiers Dodge des années 40 en parfait état : un rêve de petit garçon réalisé pour mon mari...Musée gratuit : pourboire bienvenu Tables extérieures
