This attraction doesn't take long to see but it's interesting to see the turtles being nursed back to health. The attraction is especially good for children with children-specific activities and displays. Young ones will enjoy the puppet show as much as they enjoy watching the turtles.

We visited the Georgia Sea Turtle Center on a rainy day and were very pleased with our experience. We saw many types of sea turtles be rehabilitated after injury and even watched the center's vet operate on one. Great experience and particularly excellent for children.

If you are an adult and/or have a child interested in animals, this is worth the price of admission. Be sure to engage the young staff and ask questions.

The gift shop is huge, the museum is mega-interesting, but the turtle hospital is an absolute must see! We received a senior discount that brought the price down to just under $6 and it bought us unlimited time at the facility. The staff was helpful and eager to talk about their work, but it is evident the needs of the turtles come first, so don't get upset if you have to wait for someone to answer a question. They offer an interactive learning experience that illustrates the dangers and challenges our turtle friends face in different environments around the world. My friend made it past 30 years and I failed to make it far from my nest before being gobbled up by a crab! Children were allowed to touch some items, but were expected to view others from a respectful distance. I will return and ... I'll bring others with me!

I realize the price is not an issue for some but I did see a dad turn away from visiting because of the price. The three children with him were under 12 and had to have an adult accompany them into the center. Assuming an entry fee onto the island was paid adding the admission price to the center is a hefty day's fee for some. I read in the paper recently that there is a move to control the use of plastic bags in this state. Two sea turtles were admitted to the center and it was discovered they ingested plastic, both needed surgery. Perhaps these children would have second thoughts when throwing plastic bags or any litter had they learned of this sad and preventable event at the center to which was evidently unaffordable. Perhaps children, who should be encouraged to do their part in looking after the planet should be admitted free.

Educational and very important. No touch center. Grand baby loved it. Beautiful gift shop large variety.

Great educational center for all ages. You can watch turtles being treated as well as get detailed information about how each came to the center and what the workers are doing. We paid a little extra for a behind the scenes pass - so worth it!

The hospital had a number of cold stunned turtles recovering and we saw a feeding as well as some physical therapy. In addition to being a wealth of information, we saw quite clearly the realities of the sea turtles lives.

Great fun for everyone. Very educational and interesting. It was kind of small, but there is a lot packed in the small space

An educational experience for all. Many hands on displays and a turtle hospital where you can observe turtles close up, see turtles feeding and watch the dedicated staff repair damaged turtles. Well worth spending a few hours here as part of your Jekyll Island visit.

We arrived at the right time to catch the 'turtle talk' about different kinds of sea turtles. We met a staffer who is attending GA Tech and was happy to answer questions. Our 'children' are in their early 20s and enjoyed our visit as much as my 70ish mother. As we were leaving, we encountered a sick turtle crossing the road in front of the center. We blocked traffic until the center could retrieve it for care (even though it was a land variety).

We were looking for something to do to fill a couple of hours on a Sunday morning and came across this place. It's small and you can do everything in an hour or so but it is well worth the time and small admission fee ($7). I knew that sea turtles were protected but this really explained why and explained everything about their life, how only an average of one in four thousand make it to maturity and what we can do to help them survive. In the back is an area where someone gave a talk about the turtles who are there rehabbing. You can see them swimming around and see into the turtle hospital. There is also a cute gift shop which benefits the center and information on how you can adopt a turtle or purchase a brick on their walkway. It's well worth your time either with or without children.

A good way to learn about sea turtles. It's great for adults and kids because it's interactive. The staff was very willing to share their knowledge about the turtles. There is a fee for the attraction.

This was one of the stops my boyfriend and I made during our visit to Jekyll Island. I am a biologist so was very interested in visiting the Center. While the live turtles (those recovering from injuries) were definitely the highlight and more interesting for adults, the inside interactive displays were good for young children. There was some good information provided and I felt it was a good learning for the kids.Admission fee goes towards the rehabilitation of the turtles. A good place to learn a lot.
