We are so blessed to have this State Park located in our small town. It is a magnificent place to visit for the day or longer. Even though we live within 7 miles of the park and I often drive through on my lunch hour or sit by the lake and enjoy my lunch, my family has camped here on several occasions! I would highly recommend a visit/stay at the park. The cabins are extremely nice, although I've never stayed overnight in one, I have toured them. The campground, activities and scenery are awesome! Come join us!
We were looking for a state park to stay in while visiting our daughter who's at Georgia Southern Univ. This state park was a solid 30 minutes outside of Statesboro but what a wonderful small park to visit. Very quaint and small campground, a handful of sites on a small lake, all tucked within the small town of Reidsville. Very clean bathrooms. There's a public golf course that is well maintained, small peddle boats for rent, and a real sense of Georgian southern hospitality. And to boot, Vidalia is a couple miles down the road if you need to stock up on sweet onions. We camped in a 37' motor home and will absolutely will return.
My family visited here only after we discovered that we couldn't rent a cabin afterall at nearby park, George L. Smith Park (so very rude and probably did us a favor by not staying at that cabin). Catherine was so friendly on the phone when I called to figure out a Plan B for us to spend time together with my Mom visiting from Atlanta. Quickly, they accomodated us to spend time at cabin right on golf course, beautiful and super clean and so reasonable! We definitely enjoyed staying at this park, so relaxing & peaceful time. The whole staff during the time we stayed there was so friendly and helpful and would recommend this park to folks just wanting to get away, enjoy lake/trails/cabin with screened in porch where I practically stayed during whole time, catching up on my reading and family time.
This place is absolutely beautiful. They have 3 brand new cabins That sit on a golf course. They have pretty nice biking trails And a pond that you can rent a boat. The Staff are super friendly. I was amazed that this location sat in little old Reedsville Georgia.
Rented one of their cabins for 3 nights . Deeelightful!Super clean, plenty of room and well equipped. Could live there.Highly recommend you try it, you won't be sorry
For the first time we spent a weekend at Gordonia Altamaha State Park in Reidsville, Ga. We had a wonderful time there. Place is clean (we had the hardest working Camp Host ) Peaceful, with a small lake (enjoyed sitting by the lake with a full moon) that has several really nice RV campsites. We most certainly will go there again. It was perfect for downtime.
My husband and I just recently stayed at this campground because others in the region were booked up. We had originally had our mind set on another location, but this ended up being the perfect little retreat. We stayed for a weekend at this small state park, and it was only a bit over an hour away. There are paddle boats and john boats to use in the lake as well as picnic areas, a 1 mile nature trail, volley ball area, and a putt putt course. There is also a full 18 hole golf course on the grounds which is pretty nice as well. If you are looking for an area near a city or other things to do, then this place may not be for you. It is over an hour away from any substantial city, however it is peaceful and serene. There are grocery stores, gas staions, and a few fast food joints near by, but other than that, it is you and nature!
We use the park for our cookout every year it is family focused with a lot for the kids to do.Has rough camping and cabins to rent if needed
This is one of several State Parks with a golf course. There at.ebfive fairly new cabins three of which are very near the Hole #1 green. The golf course was originally 9 holes but a back nine was added recemntly. The front nine is nice with challenging holes and traditional scenery. The new back nine is pretty much a cow-pasture (or links ?); very few trees and very spartan. All the greens were in pretty bad shape. The Club House had cold drinks but only pretty nasty looking hot dgas and microwave pizza; pretty disappointing.
