This historic site offers a variety of laid back activities. There is parking fees. There is camping, horse trails, walking trails, fishing, picnic shelters, and gathering rooms at this out of the way little park. The camping is rustic, small and quiet. It is so out of the way that one or two nights would be suggested for camping. The old covered bridge is beautiful and nostalgic. You must walk through the bridge to hear it creak, smell how vintage it truly is and take time to listen to the waterfall. The waterfall at the bridge is a great photo op. Don't expect anything grand or exciting. This truly is a place to bring a picnic lunch, great walking shoes, and then wade barefoot in the river after a great walk and relax at this simple getaway.

Beautiful scenic covered bridge which makes for a great photo opp. I am sure it is even prettier during the fall months. Great hiking trails that were well taking care of and such a peaceful relaxing environment just to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The only thing that was disappointing was that the visitors center was closed on Sunday. When finished must make the drive and eat at the Redd House in Jefferson!

This is a nice arean to visit and camp the only prolame is that the trails are not sign posted so you can get lossed on the trails and may need to call out the emergency people to help you out It is beautiful to sit by the river and watch people fishing and have a picnic down there

This state park has a wooden bridge, and a small waterfall. It would be interesting for a day trip and picnic, but the campgrounds were not nearly as nice as Victoria Bryant State Park.The lady at the check in was very nice, but that was the best part of the actual camping experience there.

We camped here over Labor Day weekend. The spots are large and well maintained. There are paddle boats and canoes to rent and a large area for equestrian riding. There are also a few easy hiking trails, but the best thing about this park is the bridge! It is historical, beautiful, and well maintained. The river shoals at the base of the bridge are so much fun! We spent a whole day wading and sliding down the rocks! My only complaint about this park would be that the park store is very small and poorly stocked. This park is perfect for a weekend, but not really enough to keep you entertained longer than that...

At 229 feet, Watson Mill Bridge is the longest covered bridge in Georgia. It has been well restored and well maintained and is open to park traffic. Included in the park are the old raceway and the powerhouse ruins. It's a pleasant park for picnicking and walking and a very interesting historical site. The park is beautiful, especially in the fall.

Great Ga State Park! Great horse trails I would rate them easy. Great campsites! Nice stables for the horses. Lots of wildlife on the trails. Very pretty covered bridge and old mill site. Overall great place to visit!

A mystery tour led us to this remote location outside of Athens Ga for a picnic, riverside trail hike, and cooling off in the river. The kids said they enjoyed rolling down the hill and wading in the river. The best part of the picnic was the view. We chose to hike the 2 1/2 trail along the river which was relatively easy. At the gift shop, there are replicas of the animals in the woods. The big attraction is the river below the falls.

This was a very pretty place to visit and the view was serene and beautiful. I put my beach chair in a shallow area and read a book the whole day - bliss!

The sites are really big and most of them are pull through with plenty of room for our 31'. Plenty of shade and sites were clean. The bath house had issues with millipeads, but that's part of camping. But even so, they were everywhere in the shower and stalls. The sites don't have a grill, but do have a fire pit.

Cant believe I've lived in Athens 10 years and didnt know about this park...a 25 minute drive and you're in a park with a (a) remarkable covered bridge (2) great picnicking, but MOST importantly--(3) AMAZING shoals on the river you can walk on, splash in AND (4) a 2.5 mile dog-friendly (leashed of course) trail, about half of which is on the river. My wife, my dogs and I LOVE this park and have gone back 3 times in the last 2 weeks. A real treasure.

Did not get to explore very much only staying one night, but it is a very nice place to camp. The bridge area is neat where kids can slide down smooth slate rocks in the water. Some of the camp sites seemed a bit cramped or not as private as one would like, but the one we stayed at was nice. Hiking, biking trails and places to picnic were plentiful. Very friendly and helpful staff at the Welcome Center. Very pretty setting.

The landscape in the park is gorgeous. I especially enjoyed the covered bridge. My husband and I found a second bridge in the park on a dirt road. That was a neat find. We were only here for a short time but enjoyed every minute.

We visited the first weekend in November. Our group consisted of 11 women and girls and 11 horses. We rented Log Cabin 1, a tent site and 12 Horse Stalls. The log cabin exceeded my expectations. The cabin was very clean and tidy (no spider webs) and the beds had actual indoor mattresses, just bring a sleeping bag or bedroll and you were good to go! The site provided plenty of picnic tables, a fire ring, and was very close to the bath house and stables. Definitely a thumbs up. The horse stables were quite nice, clean upon arrival, plenty of room for the horses, even our thoroughbreds and Percherons. The stabling area even provided muck buckets and forks, plenty of hitching posts, lots of watering stations and mounting blocks. Trailer parking was a little tight, but not unmanageable. The trails were beautiful. There were a lot of exposed roots, but most of the trails were sanded and not rocky (we only had to deal with rocks in one or two spots). The trails themselves could be a little better marked, but nothing too hard to figure out. Nothing too steep, and most of the trails could be trotted or cantered without much trouble. All in all, we had a fun time and our planning our next trip back!

Watson Mill Bridge Stae Park is a beautiful landscape of old Georgia. Tucked away in Comer about 30 miles from Athens it is a charming park with beautiful flat hiking trails, a georgious waterfall and a fabulous authentic covered bridge. This bridge is the longest covered bridge left standing in Ga. And one of only 20 still around. The workmanship is amazing and worth further inspection. The campground is small but clean and almost every site is a drive through. Most have water/sewer hook ups. There is a dump station available. The bathhouse is clean and there are laundry facilities. The cell reception is sparce but it is there. We were not able to get any TV channels on the antenna and there is no cable hook up. There are also three primitive sites available. One large enough to accommodate up to 30 people. They are not too far from the central campground location, only a 5 min walk actually.The camp host is friendly and the office has limited supply's so make sure you bring what you will need prior to arrival. But if necessary there is a town with all you'll need only 20-25 mins east.All in all this is a great weekend get-a-way. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend inn the beautiful rolling hills of East Georgia.
