The Palacio Güell is not the most famous of all the Gaudí buildings in Barcelona but it is definitely worth a visit. There are less tourist than in any of the other buildings what makes it easy to walk up and down the different floors (basement to roof) enjoying the great architecture of this place and the explanations from the audio guide. Although not as spectacular as Casa Batlló, it offers a better understanding of Gaudí's work (and the entrance fee is half). The roof is simply amazing.
Many beautiful rooms with fascinating architecture. The roof with the designed chimneys is also very interesting.
mindblowing place. Make sure everyone is ready to walk and talk.. Yes there is a lot to walk for those who cant walk much.. but few spots are so beautiful that all your pain is gone for a toss.. :)
After a walk up a rather steep hill you can continue on the escalator to the top. A good price and if you have done the bus tour use your voucher. The PARC is delightful, find the laundry lady!
Thought there would be more to see, not really worth the hours walk and 8 euros each. There was only a very small part you could actually walk around. We we're in and bored within half hour.
Although some architectural sites in Barcelona get more press, this former personal residence is incredibly beautiful--you will be amazed.
Steep walk to get there but worth it for the view from the terrace. Could have spent longer there as the gardens are very pretty
This was to be a beautiful private residential community, with views of Barcelona, that defunct. Would have gotten more out of this visit with a guided tour, there is lots of walking.
It's not the twisting, organic examples of Gaudi's signature style, but it is magnificent in it's own right. It was one of Gaudi's earlier designs, before he created his recognizable style. It is breathtaking. The audio guide is also really informative.
We took the subway to Vallcarca, then walked a bit to the longest outdoor escalator I have ever seen. Entered the park through the north gate and hiked around in the free area - it's a beautiful park with lots of trails and nice views. The pay zone is definitely worth it. Although the line for the Casa de Guarda was over an hour so we skipped that, but there was plenty more to see. Sitting in nature square in the sun while people watching was perfect.
