Interesting places to take some nice pictures.Climb to the top and explore the view from different places. Before you start your Climb, will pass in front of an army post...interesting!
Not only do you have the best view of the city, but you can also ask the military to visit the fort. São João Baptista Fort is a fine example of XVI century military engineering.
Monte Brasil it should be nice to be visited on summer. We did it on winter on a day with lots of fog, from the bottom we could not see the top of the hill, but when we arrived on the top we cannot see each other with so intense fog. There are some trails to be walked, they seem to be nice but we did not tried them, the weather was extremely wet. If someone plan to visit it please plan to do it with good weather. There may have nice views through Angra and through the sea but we were unable to see them.
I was advised to go to Monte Brasil. It is a must go place, moreover if you leave your car behind. Take a few hours and enjoy this fine piece of Nature.
I like very much the views, namely an interior one that suggest a vulcan crater. Anyway the views over the town are astonishing and also to the seminar and the bay of the hotel. Really wonderful to apreciate and make henfreds of wonderfull photos.
If you feel energetic, walk up Monte Brasil and see some great views of Angra and the coastline. Not too arduous if taken slowly. Parts used by the adjoining military barracks for weapons training so be prepared for a few loud noises. Lots of flowers and birds to be seen if that is your wanting. Picnic areas.
Expectations exceeded! Great views, superb walking trail infrastructure, unafraid deers waiting for you along the path
Nice walk to the top of the hill and very nice view down to the city of Angra. Recommended also for seeing the sunset.
Great view of the city from here. Some interesting monuments from the war area. There is not a lot to see, we where there for about 30mins or so.
Varied trail, surfaces and environment.Interesting view points with didactic explanation on semaphores, whales observation, city defense, etc. The whole journey takes not more than 2.5 hours - easy to plan in half a day
Beautiful view on the whole island, especially on Angra do Heroismo. Do not hesitate to go to the tourism office to get a map on the circuit.
When the sky is clear, you can spend the day exploring Monte Brasil. Many points of view over the city and the ocean. There's even picnic areas and barbecues!
It is probably unfair to rate it as a POOR, however the day we walked up - nice walk by the way - the low cloud came in and it started to rain. We could not see more than 100 metres, perhaps less. Angra itself was very nice. By the time we had got back into town the sun was out and we were able to have a beer in a nice quiet square in the sun.So I guess the lesson is to wait for a clear day if you can
Amazing view.Amazing place.Amazing landscape.I've went here 20 years ago, and i still remember the experience.Went there for an Easter family lunch, the day was very good wtih clear and sunny skies.Good family/couples/groups experience.Recommend 100%
