Using stairs and elevators you travel through the human body, working your way up to the brains. In some parts they use 3D projections to show how a bloodcell travels throug the heart and the vessels. You travel in small groups, so despite the large number of visitors it does not feel so. Interesting for children, but the parents will like it too.
This museum is ideal for kids. It is a tour through the human body with movies and movements to make it more entertaining. I must say I learned quite a bit. Don't go during the weekends, it can be crazy. We went on a weekday which was nice and quiet. Bring your own drinks, hugely overpriced. The tickets themselves are really expensive and honestly you don't get everything out of it. Only go if you are truely interested and want to spend your money here.
Although I really like the building, I found the museum a bit 'boring'. It's setup as an experience through the human body and you walk through the different body parts and receive information in each 'room' (eg. the eyes, the lungs, etc). The idea is cool, but there is little room for interaction and as you're in a group moving from room to room, you don't get to hang out and investigate further on specific subjects that you might found interesting.
we took our family (9 and 12) year old to Corpus on a Saturday afternoon. With the reservation system, the groups that enter are a nice size and this makes the experience more enjoyable. I would recommend Corpus very much, but would not go with (much) younger children. Also be aware of the parking: entrance and exit are very narrow.
Visited Corpus with my mom and 10 year old niece and had a great time. The audio tour really takes you into the human body. Kids are loving it and remember the funniest details. Take your time, for after the tour there are many floors to explore. Although the website says kids can join starting at the age of 6 and they recommend 8, I'd say 10 is the perfect age to start from. Must go to when you're visiting my beautiful home city Leiden!!
Great for anyone interested in the human body and it's basic workings. Fun and educational for kids. All in good working order. The food information was interesting and especially good for kids. I am a big kid and loved it!
This place i nice. Learned a few things i didn't know about my body. Clear explanation of the functions of major organs.Friendly.We stayed in Leiden for 4 days, visited Naturalis, Boerhave and Corpus. Corpus ranks 3th in my list. The price i smuch steeper than eg. Boerhave but not worth that much more.Taking Photo's is not allowed.
I have travelled by train toward Leiden specially to enter the CORPUS. It was an enjoyable experiance in the human body with many 4D simulations and movies that give all the people from different ages an easy way to understand the nature of Human body.Arrangement and organization was perfect and the guiding system was also great.Recommended for families and people those are intersting in scientefic things to visitthe only issue is that it is not allowed to take pictures. One advice for the management of CORPUS is to have 1-2 resturents. Also, prefer them to arrange with the public transportation to reach their point since you have to walk for around 20 minutes from the main road
Have you ever though to walk within a human being? Then visit the Corpus....Of course you should be interested in human physiology and biology...but it is also lots of fun, and there are plenty of activities to do. It is good for small children but also for adults who want to spend a day in a different way. Make sure you book your visit in advance because the entrance is organized by groups at specific time slots. The audio guide (in many languages) is well done and not too boring or too detailed. Reasonable canteen and also good place to organize birthday parties.
Enjoyable, funny and educational , Recommended mostly for kids from 9 +. I can see this from my office and we were invited to Visit. It's outside of Leiden near the toen of Oegstgeest , esay to find and also convenient to get to by bus from the Leiden Central station
Works with start-time slots so need to purchase ticket in advance, or just drop in end of the day to check if you still can start during an available time-slot..Not suitable for Children under the age of 7....Very nice "interactive" tour...educational for Children and adults...
There is a fabulous tour which is in English and very well put together. Afterwards there are lots of things to do and learn about. Allow as much of the day as you can. This is excellent value for money and great for the whole family.
In August 2010, traveled in Holland with another family of friends. One day we arrived at the museum / Experience Corps nearby Leiden. Amazing tour of the human body - toes to the ends of the hair ... Convey different ages guided tour is not something simple. Especially when the group with children who do not speak the local language, and some barely speak English. At the end of the tour can only conclude - was amazing and excellent. Really enjoyed, including our son was 6 years old. Even older children, not really interested in anatomy and the human body have learned a few things. Wonderful and recommended for everyone. Desirable then enter the city of Leiden lovely, worth !!!
This is a journey through the body that fascinated the kids (boys: 8, 10 &12). The information was interesting and geared towards healthy living. There are great visual and ride-type experiences. The booking process is internet only. We were on a campsite with patchy wifi so it was difficult with no printer access. It did go wrong but the lady who helped on the phone went to a lot of trouble to sort it out.
Went to Corpus today with my wife and we both thought it was good as a presentation of how the body works. Certainly was a reminder at how sensitive and fragile the body is. Perhaps if young people see this there would be a better understanding and appreciation of their body and the effect bad behavior can have on it. I'm not sure the 4D effects of movement added much to the presentation but then again I've been to Disneyland many times where the 4D effects of some of the Disney and California Adventure attractions really add a lot to the presentation. The educational factor was there but the wow factor needs some work.
