It is a very big building to start of with, you should go when the organ is going to get played it is amazing! Outside there is a cementry. If you have a chance try and go to lady kittys garden next door to the church it is great for a relaxing walk and good for children!
Lovely grounds fantastic historical buildings excellent for weddings hotel next to it didn't like rain
It is called a Parish church, but in truth it is larger than St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, the head church of the Church of Scotland. It was hard to not be moved by this special and spiritual place. Drop in for some quiet reflection and walk out feeling uplifted.
An excellent occasion with lots of gift items and crafts available. Great opportunity to get some Christmas gifts
This is the largest floor of any church in Scotland. Once partly ruined it has been restored very effectively and is well maintained. It is mostly open and no charge!
For a small town to have such a beautiful church, so peaceful and worth a wee visit. A walk around the cemetery was interesting.
Restored in the 70s to its full length, very like a cathedral, regular concerts, flower festival, worth a visit if you want to look for your ancestors in the church yard.
Beautiful church with unusually comfortable seats...just right for a concert. We visited at Christmas as well and the church was dressed beautifully.
I absolutely adore St. Mary's Church. Whenever I enter, there is always a warm feeling in your heart. When you attend a service on a Sunday, the sound of the hymns are carried beautifully and the sound fills the church. Absolutely stunning, I should know as I am an ex-chorister of St. Mary's Church!! I do miss it a lot but do go back for the main serivices such as christmas and easter. While im on the matter, the christmas service is fantastic- worth going if you get a chance :) The church is very friendly towards children as well.
Lovely setting for lammermuir festival concert. Lovely inside and beautiful stain glass windows. Worth a visit if your out for a stroll round HAddington
The interior is lovely and has many interpretive panels explaining the history of the church and its development over the years. If you lucky enough to be visiting when the organ is being played, you get the chance to appreciate the quality of the instrument. There is a peaceful atmospheric cemetery outside, with birdsong all round.
lovely tranquil place to visit, do take a guided tour as the history attached to this beautiful church is worth finding out about. small coffee area and gift shop. I think the staff are all voluntary, they do a great job and make everyone feel welcome. if you leave by the back gate it takes you to the banks of the Tyne
Stunning windows, and interesting architecture. Greeter was very friendly. Worth a look.
no real effort made to encourage visitors. Spanish churches make a real effort to encourage visitors despite the fact that their principle function is religious.
beautiful church , interesting history going back hundreds of years. also got married in this church!
