This was unknown to us Aussie travellers, but we enjoyed the short detour off the main road while discovering the local surrounds. The cemetery is small, and adjacent to a working farm, so be aware of where you park. The Janis stone was very interesting and worth the stop.

Since learning about antiquities at college the Janus figure has been an occasional pilgrimage. Wouldn't dream of passing within 20 miles without a visit. It's comforting to be in touch with things that have existed since long before we did and will exist long after we have gone. It's great that twenty million tourists are not fujiclicking selfies between souvenir shops. The two faced thing - is it human nature or something special to Northern ireland ?

Difficult to find and you need to travel west on the A47 past Boa Island for around 2km. The cemetery sign is on the right hand side of the road. The small cemetery just down a lane and is still in use and reasonably well kept. The Janus statue itself is quite small and in remarkable condition considering it is around 2000 years old and completely unprotected from the elements. Not the easiest place to find but definitely worth it

A hidden jewel. Worth a visit. The Janus Figure is outstanding. Read about the history before you visit in order that you may completely undertsand what it's about.

You almost miss the turning as you are driving along but it is a surprising place. A cemetery seemingly miles from a church and really quite neglected. However, seeing the double-sided/double-faced gravestone mentioned in the guidebooks is worth stopping for.

Worth a detour of the Boa Island, Caldragh cemetery is like a different world, from the main road, which is only 1/2 mile up a lane. The Janus Stone is meant to be over 2000 years old.

The only reason we made the drive to this out of the way spot was to view one of the few remaining statues of sheelagh na gig that can be reached by land. A series of them can be found on White Island but that is accessible by boat only. The cemetery has some interesting markers and the statue is worth a visit for those who enjoy prowling about in search of such antiquities. Admittedly we like this kind of exploring but not many do! On a warm spring or summer day, the drive itself is lovely but there is little else to draw the usual traveler.

It's worth 10 minutes of your time to pull of the road and visit the rather moving little cemetery to see the ancient carved figure at it's midst.

Beides sind sinnvolle Quellen, um den Ort und die Steine dort zu erfassen.Auch hier - wie bei fast allen Zwischenzielen etwas weg von der Hauptstrasse - waren wir allein und hatten fast "das Ende der Welt" erreicht, bevor wur den sehenswerten Friedhof erreichten.Es lohnt sich, das kleine Areal in allen Richtungen zu erkunden, um insbesondere beide Figuren zu entdecken und in Ruhe zu studieren.Im Mittelpunkt natürlich der grosse Januskopf mit seinem männlichen und weiblichen Gesicht .... finden Sie heraus, woran man den (kleinen) Unterschied entdeckt ...
