ocnele mari salt mine

it's a place worth visiting if you want to inhale some salty air and get energized by the healthy air inside the mine. the service and the facilities are average but for your health it's a place you shouldn't miss if you get around Ramnicu Valcea.

Not so big but yet interesting, you can see the different layers of salt and ground in an interesting wave like shape on the walls. There is a bus that takes you inside and you have to pay a fee but is not expensive. It's said that the air inside is very good for curing asthma. There are a couple of restaurants inside and a small church very nice

very interesting, very large, one can enjoy the spiritual things in the church inside the mine or have something to eat and drink

You go via a coach into he mine, Once there you can view the salt layers and there is so much to do inside. There was a very good art exhibition and hot wine.

The salt mine was indeed a njce surprise as, in my opinion, they really tried their best to set it up. Geting down there is a bit awkward, as you'll have to get in a bus that will take you through the site itself and then throgh a gallery that will get you to the mine.As I went right after the winter holidays, many of the Christmas decorations were still there and they weren't cheap on them :-)! Lot of Christmas trees, lighting pieces and even a Santa Claus and his Rudolph. There are tables and benches to sit on, a playground for the children (rather poorly equipped). You'll also find sports courts (basketball, football, tennis tables) and a cantine. During winter it serves only two or three dishes and only on weekends. It's worth mentioning that smoking is not allowed at all in the mine. The place is quite nice and I was very satisfied to see that the people there have done a really good job!

Beside the healthy environment, it is a great space with lots of activities and a good romanian restaurant. It's a good place to spend time with family and friends and if you need lf you need salt you can scrape the walls for pure one :)All the bellow are inside:Pro- healthy atmosphere for lungs- good restaurant(not gourmet but tasty romanian dishes)- lots of activities including basketball; football field; ping pong pool ect...- lots of things to see salt tools of all kinds, museum, modernist expo, ect.- beautifull church- cinema for kids- hot wine- wine cellar- serene atmosphere with mixed chill out musicCons- difficult acces by gps- not marked on any map

la miniera è bellissima e l'idea di trovarsi sottoterra dentro km di gallerie è veramente particolare ma potevano sforzarsi un po' di piu' per creare attrazioni e locali all'interno della miniera, dopotutto lo scenario è stupendo e particolarissimo e andrebbe sfruttato al meglio
