the sami town

Interesting reading about all the seasons of the Sami people. We visited when they had their annual lasso competitions got to eat raindeer and we were invited to look in to their small wooden houses what a privalige.

Well worth a visit if you want to experience freezing cold temperatures while walking round buying up proper winter socks, boot liners, reindeer skins, mittens etc. No where to plug vehicle in though, so starting it up can be a problem at -25.

It is a nice piece of laponian culturer, free entrance, but guided tours are extra. I can recommend a guided tour, otherwise it is just a collection of small huts with som signs telling the most basic stuff about the place.
