Driving up the winding road from Ardara is a little scarey but at least you're on the side that does not have a drop-off. Once you get to the top, the panorama is exquisite...enjoy! Pictures/photos do not do it justice.
Lovely drive, winter or summer, with a magical beauty. Take time to stop and enjoy the view and the magnificence of nature. Been hundreds of times, still enjoy the majesty and atmosphere.
We travelled with Irish Music Tours and enjoyed a loop which started in Ardara, then up Glengesh towards Slieve League, Teelin, Kilcar, and too many photo-worthy sights to see, back to Ardara. On a clear day (which we had) it is spectacular!
Ireland specializes in fantastic landscapes, however is very low on walking paths - even when the occasion would almost scream for them. One is this pass. Great, but you just drive through. A real pity.
The scenary is amazing, you can stop on many different spots and make some great photos as the landscape is magnificent.
A short drive up from the beach or waterfall takes you up the valley side and then cross country to another valley for a drive down again. Car park at the top for a picnic and photos of the stunning scenery
Pictures do not do this area justice. The scenery is so breathtakingly beautiful and massive on scale that the lens can't convey the geologic gravity. Just go! Worth the drive!
Beatiful landscape at a saddle between a nice valley and the climb down till the ocean. There is also a walk in this area, but you won't see really more than by car. That's worth passing by there to go to Glenn Cholm Cille. Narrow roads.
Whether it is a sunny day, cloudy or raining, the view is breath-taking. There is a pull-off there now so you can take as many pictures as you want. There is a delightful winding road up to the top.
Breathtaking! Unmissable! Stop in all the laybys and drink it all in. Drive through and back again. The views are equally stunning from either direction.
A gorgeous site to behold, a jaw dropping site if coming from Ardara to the coast line, otherwise an equally majestic trip down the pass. Worth seeing on each side of the road, with sheep and hillsides to adore and look forward too. On the top of the pass, there is an adorable picnic site at the top which simply must be given some time to savor. A glorious accident which won't be forgotten for years to come!
Was taken by surprise today as wasn't expecting quite such an exhilarating experience. It was a shade scary but the spectacular views made the rather hairy drive down through pass all the more worth it.Take your time if you're up for it and enjoy it.
This is a lovely drive if you are in the area and well worth the visit. The scenery is beautiful- lots of opportunities for different views as you descend down through the pass.
this is a very nice drive!very nice if take a bike but also good by car.dont forget to stop at every stop to take a picture!
Glengesh (and it's lesser known sister granny) are superb for a walk/cycle or drive. The scenery is breathtaking winter or summer. Make sure you are not a nervous driver…..if so just take it slow and pull in well in advance if you see another car coming. An absolute must if you are in the Ardara area.
