这是华沙历史中最具有指标性的一个景点之一,皇宫前的纪念柱也有其历史意义。中庭可以免费进入,不过进入内部参观需要购票进入。
Royal Castle 其实不是在Old Town 里面, 严格来说, 他是在Old Town 旁边.
It is a real suprise to find out that after this was bombed in the original blitzcreig it waws rebuilt after the war during the russian occupation but it looks so old and original and the interior is superb in every detail. This dominates the Old Town and is unmissable
It is amazing how this building was destroyed during WWII but many of the paintings were saved and historians have worked diligently to restore the castle to its former appearance based on old photographs and artwork and furniture that was saved. I definitely recommend visiting- many beautiful rooms and paintings, but the history of the building and how people worked so hard to preserve and restore it is amazing.
I have been to see the Royal castle on a Sunday and it was free. It was amazing how the rebuilt the place from the total destruction during WWII. I had a quick look around and probably I should have taken the audio guide to understand more about the paintings and its history. I will say it's worth a visit if you are out and about in old Warsaw
A trip to Old Town would not be complete without an hour or two in the Castle. The room descriptions are well done and the guards helpful. An added bonus: the art gallery is small but a nice variety of paintings, bronzes, wood carvings, etc.
Must see for art lovers. Gallery inside contains paitings, rugs, cutlery. Its national monument of Poland. Royal residence for the last Polish kings. In the castle's interiors u can really feel like 200 years ago.
Although the décor was fantastic the staff were terrible, we felt rushed around and chased out by the staff. Everything appeared to be an inconvenience for them.
They did a great job. The palace is one of the remainders of the impressive period before the wars. It is a rare symbol of the past, after that dreadful destruction of a whole country.
The old town of Warsaw was obliterated in WWI and restored after the war but it wasn't until the fall of communism that the castle was restored. That they have managed to restore it in such painstaking detail is the most interesting thing about it - the upholstered panel behind the throne with the embroidered gold Polish eagles was recreated from one fragment that survived.
A great place! Beautifully restored and full of unique and interesting rooms and treasures. The passion of the employees in spiriting away some of the works of art before the Nazi's came is just one aspect of an incredible history highlighted in the museum. Most objects have very interesting stories about how they survived WWII and the many invasions of Poland previous to it- be sure to look at the signs. Worth a visit! Note: The museum is free on Sundays.
Most of Royal palace is rebuilt after it was ruined in World War II. This palace is big and has a lot of nice paintings and history. You keep on going from one room to another wondering how kings and queens used to live their life !
Well, very nice castle, but maybe from outside don't show too much. But really worthy to buy a ticket and visit inside, amazing! :)
If no one mentioned that this is a newly reconstructed castle after WW2, we can never imagine this nicely restored building which is a tell tale of Poland history is actually new. It also houses a small but great art gallery with many nice art pieces.
Beautiful castle and even more beautiful square. The whole atmosphere there is inspiring and peacefull
