I think Lodewijk S nailed it with the comment about kitch. I know this is an old favorite, but playing very loud recorded music is only entertaining for a short time.
Just another adorable attraction in the city. In the heart of the city, it's great to sit and walk around to chill.
This Fountain is very nice indeed, as well as the parks/gardens around it - On its own it wouldn't be such an attraction, but gven you can see it and then walk 50 yards to the Colonnade, when they are combined its worthwhile as you don't have to go out of your way for it.
A modern fountain with coulred water producing popular 19th century music pieces. Could be labelled as kitsch but it fits well in the surroundings.
Fountain goes off on the odd hours only and plays different tunes, all are worthwhile. Please check the schedule on the board nearby.Evening performances at 21.00 and 22.00 add the light show that is rather special and magical.Do not miss this free of charge attraction. We came back four times.
Don't miss this experience. It's quaint and old-fashioned and utterly charming. Located at the end of the Colonnade, the fountains sing and dance on the odd hours throughout the day, with a final performance at 22:00. The evening shows are enhanced with coloured lights. The programme of music is posted nearby. They never fail to draw a crowd, and I think are worth a little handclap at the end.
every hour the fountain surges an adapt to a music .We got the choir of the slaves from Nabucco ...but if your hotel stands nearby there is a choice of well known tunes.
It was so wonderful and beautiful that it brought tears to my eyes. The music is different each time so one can return and return again!
An optional visit to this Singing Fountain by our tour party in the evening was most enjoyable. The music was classical pieces by Strauss and Mozart and complemented the wonderful movements of the fountain in the dark which was illuminated by coloured lights giving the effect of coloured and iridescent water. In the morning there is another opportunity to hear the singing fountain but this time it was popular music including the Titanic theme tune and the fountain was not coloured.
Singing fountain is one of the most amazing things i have ever seen. Don"t miss, for sure, its beautiful, we were there every day to have a look
It is very unique and kind of romsntic! There is no such a fountain I do know. Every time I come to Mariánské Lázně, I always go to see It. Everyone should visit !!!
Mariánské Lázně is world known place – visitors are mainly interested in healing springs or historically famous buildings. But only few visitors intend to complete a hiking round tour above city. We did so and the effort was worth it.The origination of the the spa is surrounded with legends about a young craftsman apprentice from Cheb. On the walk from Teplá through the woods he had found a gurgling source. He drank from it and falled asleep tired. In his dream he had a vision of Virgin Mary pointing at the source with her left hand and blessed it.When the young man woke up, he took a prayer book to pray. As he opened the book he found Marian picture and he puti t on the three under which he slept. Later this picture was replaced with wooden one, since then the spring is called Marian and the settlement later arisen is named Mariánské Lázně.
Just pop in there to entertain yourself - it's a good evening thing to listen to the music and see nice water plays
Well, the music starts (in this case, 2 songs by Celine "Titanic" Dion) and the water springs gently... I was not impressed.
I like mostly everything, restaurants, kolonade, spa and wellness. I will always have nice memories from this beautiful and amazing Hotel.
