This a truly pretty castle located in the Czech Sudetenland. It is situated above a sleepy town - Jauernig. There are guided tours through the castle and you can also visit the surrounding park. Definitely a very nice experience. I will be back!!
Jansky Vrch, Czech Republic is a beautiful castle that is located right on the border with Poland. The castle is sitting right in the village of Javornik and is easily accessible by public transportation. I took the train and even though I had a friend pick me up to drive me to the village, I certainly wouldn’t mind walking. It is not that far away and the castle is on the top of a hill, so visible from the train station. The entry fee is between $2.5 and $5 per person or family can also utilize family entry fee that allows that to pay less. There are 4 different paths that you can take (most interesting path to me was the one pertaining to the regular life at the castle – seeing the household such as kitchen, servant’s dorm, etc.). All other information is located right on the website above. The entry fee is for actual entering the castle, so anyone can go up the hill; walk around the castle and in the gardens for free. The castle has been going through a lot of renovation, is well taken care of and almost every year there is something new to see. Additionally, throughout the year there are events such as Christmas at the castle, concerts, etc.The castle has a nice little café that serves coffee, cakes and other small refreshments. There is also a small kiosk with souvenirs reasonable priced. I would recommend to anyone to visit this castle especially during summer which is the peak season and all areas are open. http://www.janskyvrch.cz/en/
