It is gorgeous. A must-see if you are visiting Kutna Hora/Sedlec. Get the combined ticket with the Sedlec Ossuary and the cathedral in Sedlec. Great deal! The church itself is beautiful but the history behind it makes it more meaningful. The views from the area around the church are stunning. Even on a cloudy/gray day in March, it took my breath away.
This is an enormous cathedral and is just stunning inside. Definitely worth a visit as the architecture is amazing.
In addition to the bone church , you must visit this cathedral , the history behind it is amazing and the view as well. If you go to to Kutno Hora and the bone church do not forget to stop at Santa Barbara. You can a ticket that includes admissions to the 3 churches, we did but only 2 out of the 3 I would recommend the Bone church and Santa Barbara Cathedral, the other one is not impressive, it is still under renovation
This is a magnificent cathedral with lot of historic value. The mammoth structure outside is breathtaking. The paintings, murals and depictions inside are truly outstanding! Worth visiting!
This is definitely in my top three most imposing cathedrals in Prague list. Inside there's beautiful art. Well worth a visit.
Cathedral is stunning and so is view from nearby park. Can you imagine they started build cathedral in 1388 and finish in 1905? If you want quit time, visit off season and on Sundays. But just count that many of the cute boutiques are closed on Sunday.
We had a private guide with us when we visited. The extra history and explanations he gave are what turned my review from a 3 to a 4. Without the extra info, it would just have been a big, pretty church. You can get a combo ticket for this and the Bone Church, and you might as well. Let's face it, you really aren't in town for this cathedral. Also, the walk between here and the Bone Church was pretty and quaint.
Very beautiful inside and out, if you enjoy looking at churches and cathedrals you'll enjoy this. Built for the miners back in the day, many stories behind everything inside. Well worth doing a tour or having a guide to explain everything and get an understanding of history. We did a day tour of Kutna Hora which included this, the bone church and a walking tour around the town with lunch included, well worth doing.
Very interesting cathedral with lots to look at and admire inside. Some very old wall murals were especially interesting (and the hot mulled wine on sale outside was a life saver in Feb.it was cloder inside than out!)
This is by far one of the most impressive cathedrals I went to while in the Czech Republic. Honestly its worth it to go to Kunta Hora just for this cathedral, the ossuary is a bit of a disappointment and to irreverent for my tastes. The ceiling is incredibly tall and will blow you away. Simply gorgeous.
Reading about it, it says it took 500 years to build it, Well you can easily see why, It is very comparable to St. Vitas Cathedral in Prague, just a lovely. We took a tour from Prague to Kutna Hora so this was in the price of the tour. The formal tour inside is very informative and shows all the various aspects of the church.
Somebody will say the bone church (Cedlec) is the most impressive one in Kutna Hora, but I dare say St. Barbara cathedral is the best one in there. It's astonishing and total gem of stained glasses of Art Nouveau. This cathedral is as known as the building, which was built to be against of St.Vitus cathedral. So there's another interesting point to look around this building to compare between St.Vitus cathedral and this one.If you are planning to travel to Czech Republic, please visit not only Prague, but also Kutna Hora.
It would be a sin to miss that monumental cathedral.Best of all that is painted windows inside.Absolutelly heartbreaking atmosphere and without houndreds and houndreds tourist like in st.Vitus cathedral in Prague
Beautiful structure and a nice walk leading up to the Cathedral. We got there just after closing which we were gutted about. Will go to see it again next time.
The whole desigh and architecture of the building was breath-taking and it is just the second best one I have seen next to the Westminster Abbey. You need to pay the ticket but they offer a special deal for 3 sightseeing site including the church with bones and skeleton. I think it is fair enough.
