This centuries old building dominates the Upper Square of Olomouc, along with the plague column. Be sure to visit this while in town, and try to be here to watch the astronomical clock at noon.

From the general architectural qualities of the building, to the unique Socialist themed clock and the great views to be had from the top of the tower; there are so many reasons to visit this attraction.Considering that the city's very helpful tourist information office is also located in the town hall, one would have to go to some effort to actually miss it.Highly recommended.

We were disappointed to find out that the tower was not open in October. Luckily the clockwork was operating and we saw the funny 12 o'clock performance.

A charming building and we only wish that we were staying til Sunday nights (when the Christmas markets opens). What a splendid sight the market place will be then and the Town Hall will complement it.

While in Olomouc is hard not to visit the market square and see the main attraction which are situated there (holy trinity column, town hall, clock etc). The town hall is a beautiful building and adds a lot the the surroundings with its style. Worth a see.

This is a great building situated in a great square in a surprisingly beautiful small town. Certainly the are so many elements that make it worth wise the visit, the clock, the staircase the spire, the surroundings. If you are in your way to Brno certainly worth the detour

A great place, dominating Horni Namesti (Upper Square). Its most prominent feature is the Orloj - astronomical clock (like the one in Prague). Historical place, first erected in 1378, then re-constructed several times. Very interesting from the architectural point of view, it obviously conveys the sinister atmosphere of Middle Ages, especially in the night! Nearby, the Marian column -dedicated to the victims of a plague epidemic in the 1700s- is also astounding. An info bureau in the Town Hall building, a brass miniature of the city, a nice fountain with themes from greek mythology, nice eateries around... Not to be missed!

It's hard to miss the Olomouc Town Hall located in the Upper Square. Astronomical clock is situated on the north facade. Information center is found on the first floor. My husband took a tour to the top of the tower and got some great shots of Olomouc from the top.

Ancient Town Hall with Orloj - astronomical clock (like in Prague). Architectural dominant of the Horni Namesti (Upper Square). Strongly recommend to see. Marian column one of the most beautiful in Europe. Atmosphere of middle ages especially at the night!

A historical town reserve. From the mid-11th century to the end of the 12th century the seat of the nonruling Přemyslid principality and until the mid-17th century the capital of Moravia. The Gothic Town Hall dates from the 14th century. Its tower forms the north-west corner of the Council-house dating from 1443. The horologe on the Town Hall is alleged to have originated in the same year.

One of the best kept secrets in Europe. Simply stunning! Lots to see or simply watch the world go by in this glorious setting!

I loved the astronimical clock; under the communist regime, the saints where replaced with proletariat workers. Every hour workers of various types come out to chime the hour - try watch them strike midday
