This was the icing on the cake of Taormina, after walking through the cobbled alleyways and tucked away restaurants you open out onto this stunning view of Sicily's coastline. The evening offers this romantic view of glimmering lights and vast velvet skies set in the romantic old town of Taormina. The place echoes Italian romance.

The views from the Piazza IX Aprile are amazing a great place to watch the sun set. Also a fantastic place to get some stunning photo's.

The views in Taormina are amazing. This square is framed nicely by the surrounding buildings, but the real appeal is the terrace that extends out over the mountain to provide incredible view of Mt. Etna and the coastline.

We met our Tour Guide here and had a chance to wander around the alley ways and courtyards this was a wonderful place. the view of the Sea from the walls and the beautiful pottery that you see in most of the windows is breathtaking.

If you want the Sicilian experience, it's here! Locals and tourists mixed together experiencing life. The views are indescribable. The sunset was stunning. You can see Mt. Etna in the background. The ocean down below. There were musicians and painters, but my favorite was seeing the people who live there just gathering and chatting. Little kids running around playing.

Go there for the view across the bay and to Etna. Drink coffee outside and watch the people go by. Visit the church before you leave. Have a quick peek in the old library that is being renovated there.

We spent most nights on our four-night stay in Taormina walking through this piazza and the adjoining streets. Lots of music and great food to sample.

If you visit Taormina, you are highly recommended to dink an espresso and chill on the Piazza with locals as well.

This piazza has it all: a beautiful view of the sea and coast; and a volcano! Mt Etna sends out a white plume of smoke. There are also cozy bars, churches, lots of sun and fine architecture. No wonder that this was Truman Capotes favourite haunt during his time in Taormina.

Numerous shops for shopping and eating but some were expensive. Scenery was beautiful during the Christmas season.

It's the main square of the town and it has the most fantastic view of the Giardini naxos bay and the Etna!

A great square where all happens in Taormina. Just loved lazing around and hang out here. Many great churches around the square. Many weddings happen here and lots of live music.

Taormina should be one of the most beautiful places on Sicily. This unbelievable great view from on top from the Piazza IX Aprile is not to describe. You need to see for yourself. Great atmosphere, come in the morning and also check this location at evening.

The Piazza is right beside the hotel, and very handy. It is fringed by bars including the Wunderbar (great name).
