Just for the position of this basilica alone its worth a look . Perched up there on the top of the hill with a commanding view over Vicenza . At the top of the famous stairs by Palladio its an important place . Keep some small change for the beggars there , outside the church who will bless you if you give them something and bless you even if you do not.

A very ornate church with red lanterns at the altar. Well worth the visit. One particular thing about this church is that, when mass is over, you can go behind the altar to see "La madonna". Many people touch or kiss the virgin located there and many have left gifts "to thank her for an answered prayer". there is a museum inside the church, and in december they expose a nativity scene in its basement. Nearby there are 2 restaurants and right next to it there's a bar. On a clear day you can see all of vicenza from the parking lot.

The church and the piazza at Monte Berico is well worth the visit. Even though there are lots of signs pointing the way, it can be tricky driving up the hill from the city. Once you are there though, the view is great. There is ample parking and it seems like this is one of those places people meet to hang-out. You can take as much time as you want to look around and see the city arrayed out below the walls. You can see different things during the day than you can at night, so I recommend visiting more than once.

Monte Berico is the highest point in the City of Vicenza. The view is breathtaking, best after the rain when it is not so hazy. The church is classic Baroque with an almost Eastern Orthodox flavor. Visiting the church is free, though difficult when Mass is going on. Additionally, it is closed midday for riposo, so best to check before heading up there.

You can not go wrong seeking out this gorgeous place! Not only is it truly beautiful, but it's beauty spreads warmth around it like the rays of sunshine. I recommend walking from downtown up along a covered walkway that stands as one spectacular entrance way to the Santuario. Once to arrive to the area you can see the best view of Vicenza and also stroll around the hillside along the many trails and quiant roads around the hillside. The Santuario itself is striking and I never tired of seeing it after multiple years living in Vicenza.

We drove to the top of the hill and found parking easily. The church is packed with wonderful art and sculptures - a feast for the eyes. We were so pleased we decided to go there. The loggia across the road is amazing - it's a long walk, but I'm sure it's worth while.

Not only a gorgeous building, but also a nice walk until you get there, and then a panoramic view of Vicenza from above.

The church was closed, when we were there, but the panoramic view over Vicenza and its surroundings from the Piazza della Vittorio is more than worth the trip up the hill (certainly in the evening light). the porticoed walkways on the way uphill are remarkable.

Apart from the views of the surroundings from the hilltop and the viewing point, the church itself and the monastery are worth visiting too. The impressive colonnade is worth walking up if it's not too hot, otherwise you can take the bus uphill and walk down.

Simply stunning view of Vicenza and great, beautiful church!!! This place is always full of young people having fun there). If it's not so hot and You have enough spare time, I'd recommend to walk up on foot).

Sat outside was well sheltered from the heat with pleasant surroundings. Food was good and reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere and fantastic view.

Must be avoided during Catholic holidays and on Sundays. When in town, attempt to check this one out. Inside the church you may see multiple plaques presented by the faithful whom offer gratitude for the blessings received. Behind the church you can find a small museum and a gift shop that is also worth visiting. Across the street, there is a parkinglot that offers an amazing panoramic view of Vicenza.

The chapel is unexceptional, but he Veronese "Dinner of St. Gregory the Great" is a fine reason to go, It is a smaller version of his great "Wedding at Cana" at the Louvre, where it has been since Napoleon stole it from Venice.

Went out of our way on a Saturday, closed, no information as to opening. Other tourists, visitors and coach parties similarly wandering about looking puzzled before departing. Shop opposite filled with rubbishy religious artefacts by the way. Almost tempted to get one of the madonnas in a bubble.

Biked a LONG hill to see the view of the city and church. The church was totally normal, nothing special, would highly recommend spending your time doing anything else! If you keep biking a short distance, on your left you'll find a small but very nice military museum. Also the view is nice but the train station and the newer buildings ruin it.
