Very beautiful cathedral, with impressive interior. In particular, the frescoes are very interesting. And the two lions at the entrance are a great option for a nice remembrance photo.

It is a very impressive cathedral - inside and outside. We have not gone to the tesaurum, but cathedral itself offers a lot to see.

So glad the bomb did not explode and destroy this cathedral (but go and see the shell still inside the cathedral!). We benefitted from the guide who showed us the layer upon layer of history of the place, and how the succeeding eras built upon the previous foundations. A place of peace and a link to the history of the trade and the wealth of the times. Add this to Istanbul and Venice, and you get a picture of the links of these places. Lovely.

Great local cathedral with its black and white stripes on the facade. Contrast is inside with gilded vaults and frescoes. Marble chapel for John the Baptist relics, is awesome. Free access except for the little museum (cheap though) located In the crypt. There, the temple for gold, silver and emerauld artefacts. Some come the crusades, some others from former Byzance.

Another big church, a bit over decorated, impressive how it is build, and of course worth a visit, but do not expect something really special. The church has the grandeur of a Cathedral as it should be besides that, 13 in a dozen.

Totally amazed at the architecture and carvings of this building and I suppose the whole of Genoa. This was a very special building in a wonderful city

It is main church of Genoa. It is very beautiful from inside and outside. There are beautiful paintings and dome is also beautifully adorned. You can see a bomb shell dropped there in world war 2 but it did not blast.

The cathedral is attractive both internally and externally. The striped design on the outside gives it a unique and distinctive appearance and the inside is very ornate. It is worth a visit.

Amazed by the size of the world war 2 bomb dropped by the Allies and so glad it failed to detonate. Closed between 12pm and 3pm but well worth a visit

The outside is stunning. Unfortunately on the day we visited there was a mass about to start so we only got a brief look inside but what we did see was beautiful.

The exterior is stunning, with the black and white stonework initially looking like stripes. When viewed close up, there is amazing detail and intricate patterns worked into the stone.The interior is also very ornate, with abundant paintings and frescoes. There are some unusual features too. The unexploded bomb from the Second World War is on display (I'm hoping they've removed the explosive material :-) ). Apparently it fell through the roof and failed to explode. In the Tesoro, which is free to Museum Card holders, there is a dish that was thought to be the holy grail, and a platter that was supposed to have carried John the Baptist's head. They are splendid objects, even if their provenance is doubtful.San Lorenzo is well worth a visit.

This place is almost dizzying it's so unique. The effect of the black and white marble, plus intricate designs , left me spellbound. I would give it 6 out of 5 stars for the impact it had on me.

Very nice Cathedral. For those who are devoted to St Lawrence, there is a little chapel inside where you can find the bones of St Lawrence that been carried to this Cathedral by the Templars.
