Here I am a little biased about Amberg,it is the town I grew up in and also 2 of my children were born there,before we emigrated to Canada .It has a lot of history going back to the 11th century,if I recall right.But the funny thing is,if you live with that much history around you,a person doesn't pay that much attention to it.If you going to visit ,there are lots of churches,see Maria Hilf on the hill ,it is an easy 20 min. walk from downtown,Be there on Saturdays so you can enjoy the Farmers Market in the Mainsquare.I could go on and on about the atttractions of this town but go and see it yourself,it is worth a visit.Make sure you have a warme Leberkaese semmel(Meatloaf on a bun)at lunchtime and also have some of the good bavarian beer to go with that.`

muss man einfach gesehen habenAm Abend, nach einem leckeren Essen einen Spaziergang durch Amberg und als Abschluss die Stadtbrille, wenn denn das Licht geht, ein unbedingtes Muss.Sehr gern nutze ich das mit Geschäftsfreunden auf dem Weg ins Hotel.

ein wunderschöner Blick über den Fluß und zur Stadtkirche erhält man, wenn man mit den Booten von Amberg in Richtung Drahthammer unterwegs ist....hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht!

Баварский городок Амберг стоит на речке Фильс, все здесь такое милое и миниатюрное, что хочется непременно использовать уменьшительные суффиксы. Таких мостов, точнее старинных мостиков я больше нигде не видела – они только пешеходные, деревянные, с крышей. Самый большой мост – каменный (это даже не мост, а двухэтажная постройка над рекой), опирается на дно и берега реки двумя полукруглыми арками, так что вместе с отражением в воде получается два круга – эта достопримечательность носит название «городские очки», Stadtbrille. Если, двигаясь с Марктплатц, обойти церковь Святого Мартина и выйти на набережную Фильса, «городские очки» будут слева.
