I had the opportunity to travel to Germany on business. While there, I made no secret of my desire to visit an old, historical German castle. One of my colleagues recommended Schloss Dyck.The castle, which is even surrounded by a moat, is beautfiful and the main portion is impecabbly maintained. Some re-construction of the surrounding buildings is ongoing, but the main house is widely available and not only hosts visiting art displays, but also offers a glimpse into the comforts inherent in life inside a castle. Even the horses lived well.The gardens are extensive and I imagine, offer something special during each season. I was there in the early Fall and the oranges and yellows of the surrounding trees provided a perfect backdrop against which the castle was set.This would be a great day trip for a family, botanist or any aspiring (or accomplished) photographer. I know my camera got a work-out!Visting this castle only ignited my interest in viewing more old castles and other historic structures in Germany. It was definitely a worthwhile visit and time well spent.

My friends and I went to the Christmas market at the Schloss Dyck. It isn’t far from Cologne and Leverkusen. The entrance fee for an adult is EUR 12. The fee isn’t cheap but there’re so many people visiting the place to buy Christmas gifts. The Christmas market at this Schloss only lasts 3 weeks. They sell local handicrafts, toys, accessories, etc. which are very interesting. All of them are very lovely and of high quality. I bought the wooden toy and silverware. The yellow building of the Schloss Dyck opens and you can see how they lived in the past. I’m impressed by 2 rooms in this building (i.e., a room with leather wall and a rom with Chinese silk and painting around). Taking pix inside the Schloss Building is not allowed. On the 2nd floor of the Schloss Dyck, they exhibit pix of beautiful nature. It’s relaxing to see them. In the Christmas market area, foods and drinks are quite expensive. I bought the grilled salmon at EUR 8 and it’s very nice. A cup of non-fizzy water costed me EUR 2 and I think this one is too much.

As every year on the first weekend of august, we went to the Schloss Dyck car show,in the gardens and fields around the chateau.Unforgettable moments for the whole family,there are not only a few thousend old cars as Bugatti,Rolls,Jaguar,Ferrari but almost every car we have seen in our life was there.Between all those cars in the park a lot of animation for young and old, and fine catering and drinks for everyone.If you use the parking places, don't forget to take the free shuttle.If your with an older car and you're early in the day present, they give your car a spot in the park.You will surely need two days to visit the show, between this exposition they take a ride with the race cars !

We discovered this place because this place is the home of a fundation regarding the gardens, the name is EGHN (European Garden Heritage Network). So it was a good opportunity to visit this place, a nice castle and an important park.The day we were there, there was a special festival of lights, called "illumina". It occurs every years at the end of August, beginning of September. Check the website.Facilities for car park, but restaurants and hotel are 10 / 15km far away from this place.

Beautiful grounds (70 hectares) and water around this castle/schloss. Designed by a Scottish landscape gardener, Thomas Blaikie, for the Dyck family/Prince, it is a very nice place for a walk. The Schloss is nice for a short visit. It is one of a set of gardens/parks/schlosses across the local countryside stretching up into the Netherlands.There is a nice cafe as well as small fruit market selling apples and apple products made on the estate.http://www.stiftung-schloss-dyck.de/en/home.html

Mit 7 Euro Eintritt in den Wintermonaten ist dies schon ein stolzer Preis Die Schloßanlage ist sehr schön und weitläufig und auch sehr gepflegt. Im Wasserschloß selbst könnten die Räume schöner ausgestattet und dekoriert sein.Die Erklärung der Räume erfolgt über Papierblätter, welche auf den Fensterbänken liegen.Sehr schön ist die Seidentapete in einem Raum, diese wird interaktiv erklärt.Eine schöne Anlage

Die alljährliche Illuminata ders Schlossparks Dyck ist eine Reise wert.Der wundervolle alte Garten und dort insbesondere die Bäume werden in der Dunkelheit in Farben getaucht. Aus Lautsprechern kommt mittelalterliche Musik oder die Bäume erzählen Geschichten oder Gedichte. Am Wegesrand beleuten Kerzen den Boden und auf den Wassergräben schwimmen Kerzen.Eine rundum gelungene Veranstaltung in diesem wunderschönen Schlosspark,der natürlich auch am Tage einen Besuch wert ist.

Eine sehr schöne, weitläufige Anlage, in der man prima spazieren gehen kann. Der Besuch des Schlosses ist empfehlenswert. Genau das Richtige für einen Sonntag nachmittag.

Une suite de batiments construits sur quatre iles et une galerie de jardins. En effet une partie des jardins sont des creations de paysagistes. Plusieurs restaurants. Nous avons testé et apprécié le Café et Bistrot BOTANICA pour ses plats frais trés copieux et préparés avec bcp de gout.

Bei herrlichem Wetter machte es Freude durch den Landschaftspark zu schlendern. Ein Besuch der Foto-Ausstellung mit japanischen Landschaftsmotiven und auch des Schloss-Ladens rundeten das Bild ab.

Park und Schloß sind wirklich ganz schön. aber der Eintrittspreis ist viel zu hoch. Ein Familienausflug für Besserverdienende ist hier sozusagen eine feine Sache.Achtung, wenn auf Dyck ein angekündigtes "Event" ansteht, treffen sich regelmäßig die Massen. Wer das schön findet, dem wird dann auch was geboten.

Da wollten wir schon immer mal hin. Nun war es soweit. Ein sonniger Spätsommertag lud direkt ein, um uns diese Sehenswürdigkeit in unserer näheren Umgebung anzuschauen. Das Schloss Dyck ist eines der bedeutendsten Wasserschlösser des Rheinlandes.Beim Anblick des Schlosses fühlt man sich in die Vergangenheit zurück versetzt. Alles ist so, wie man es sich auch vorstellt. Als Kulisse für Filmaufnahmen und Hochzeiten eine gute Adresse. Während unseres Aufenthaltes sahen wir mehrere Hochzeitsgesellschaften, die dieses Panorama für ihre Erinnerungsfotos nutzten.Das Innere des Schlosses war aber für uns eine herbe Enttäuschung. Vom Prunk vergangener Zeiten keine Spur. Wir hatten eher das Gefühl, als hätte der Eigentümer alles zu Geld gemacht. In den kargen Räumen hatten teilweise selbsternannte „Künstler“ ihre „Werke“ abgestellt. Kein Wunder, dass sich diese Art „Kunst“ keiner, außer uns beiden, anschauen wollte. Die teilweise muffige Luft lud auch nicht gerade zu einem längeren Aufenthalt ein.Auch wenn Schloss und Parkanlage einen gepflegten Eindruck machen, täuscht es doch nicht darüber hinweg, dass einige Enthusiasten verzweifelt versuchen, die Anlage zu erhalten und mit Leben zu füllen. Es wäre zu wünschen, dass es gelingt.

Для тех, кто интересуется ландшафтным дизайном - это замечательное место для прогулки. Большой парк. Внутри особняка мало чего интересного. 2 ресторана: 1 на входе, 2й в особняке. Вход платный, есть детские плащадки и магазины.

Prenez-vous y a l'avance quand vous allez voir le spectacle son et lumière (Illumina). En effet il ne se déroule que sur 4 jours fin Août début Septembre et attire beaucoup de visiteurs. Les parkings sont vite saturés et la file d'attente aux caisses est longue ! Ensuite le spectacle est sympathique.Des projecteurs de toutes couleurs, des lasers, illuminent le parc créant des jeux de lumière que l'on admire en écoutant une musique calme et relaxante. Le parcourt proposé dans la forêt du château n'est pas d'un grand intérêt. Le sentier balisé par des torches est étroit et l'on à l'impression d'être sur autoroute au retour d'un long weekend ! Les arbres illuminés ne peuvent pas être admiré comme en plein jour ! La restauration n'est pas oubliée et vous trouverez de quoi manger! (Saucisses, bière...) En conclusion y aller de bonne-heure pour visiter la forêt de jour, attendre le spectacle du parc a la nuit tombée.

Aussenhülle des Schlosses ist sehr schön, auch der teilweise sehr alte baumbestand mit Bäumen aus praktisch der ganzen Welt ist sehr eindrücklich.Im Schloss nur noch sehr wenige Gegenstände wie Möbel oder Waffen.
