Big pebbles. Crystal clear waters. Very quiet especially if you go early. Approximately 20 minutes walking through the forest.
A wonderful heart rate walk up & down from Emplisse car park, 1.3km each way. It roughly took us 25min each journey and enjoyed the flora & fauna wooden sedative signs on the way.
This little beach is a good 15 minute walk down a wooded path (not suitable for kids) but when you get there, it's gorgeous! Crystal clear water (like all the other beaches on the island) and if you're lucky, very quiet. Park the car on the main road opposite the ceramics shop and be prepared for a walk! (in flip flops is fine) Well worth exploring the rocks around either side of the bay too as you see even more beautiful scenery and you will find it hard to resist jumping into the water and swimming back to shore.
Don't tell everyone about this beach as its joy is there are so few people there! Lovely walk through woods to get to it, good snorkelling
Absolutely beautiful. Take water and bread and spend the day after walking there through the trees. Pebbly so easier on the feet to take jellies or beach shoes.
Clear water, quiet beach with pebbles. Can walk through woodland from Emblisi beach or take car up road out of Fiscardo - park at side of road and walk down track to beach. It is possible to take the car half way down this track to a parking area - but it is quite steep and rough for the first part, so if you have a hire car - be careful!
Loved this beach. Totally unspoilt and great for swimming. Waters are crystal clear and we were very lucky as not at all crowded. It takes a bit of climbing down to and I hope this discourages people on the future and stops them from over populating it.
Arrived at 11am after a 1 hour walk from Fiskardo to find the 'deserted' beach almost full! Obviously Kamilia is well on the beaten path these days, and the most shady spot was bagged by a noisy bunch of Italian campers! Really not worth the effort if you are expecting a peaceful beach. However the walk there - about 2.5 km - is very pretty & well marked - mostly through shady woodland -a bit up & down and rocky so best to wear stout walking shoes. For the less fit, you can get there by small hired motor boat from Fiskardo. If you go, take something to eat & drink as there are no facilities there, and beach shoes and a rubber mat as it is very stony.
We discovered the beach from the boat we hired for the day. A beautiful bay to lay up in and enjoy the stunning views and clear waters. We returned by car. The access by land is more difficult but worth the walk. We too thought this was the best beach in the area. Go and enjoy.
Clear water - small withe pebbles beach - flat rocks to lay on - No kiosck or anything - fewer people
There are two sections to this beach. We walked further than the first. It was very small, secluded and very relaxing. Water was very clear but cold. It's quite a walk from where you park the car but it was a very pleasant walk
Most of the beaches in Kefalonia are splendid, but I prefer the small gems in the northern Erissos region, and Kimilia is a beautifully cozy example. After decades of tourism, the network of roads and signage have improved throughout the island, and Kimilia is easy to get to, provided you can walk 10-15 minutes through a pretty pine forest after driving the short (but dusty) access road. What you get is an intimate setting with pristine white pebbles, clean water and plenty of isolation. There are no concession stands, so bring your own supplies. Rocky formations on either side of the beach allow for some light explorations away from other beach goers.Since access is limited to foot traffic, Kimlia occasionally sees a yacht to two anchored off shore, but the discreet setting ensures peace and quiet. The beach has beautiful views of the coastline and the sea, and looking back to shore all you’ll see are cypress covered slopes and pure blue sky.Kimila faces slightly north-east, so it gets a good dose of sun without the draining effects of a south-facing beach. It’s perfect for a mid-morning swim, but it turns magical just before the sun heads over to the Adriatic.
Small, cozy and adventurous, it is almost a 15' walk in the woods from the place where you can leave your car. Famous among locals and frequent visitors, has magnificent waters and plenty of flat rocks next to the main beach.Next to a small forest, so plenty of shade around the clock.Nice location for diving or scuba diving also with surprisingly interesting ground.
You have about a 10 minute walk to the beach through woodland once you have parked your car, but well worth it. Clean, small and very serene. You will need to take plenty of water and some food as there is no taverna, don't let that put you off though, it is fabulous
Really paricular nice small beach! You have to drive half way, and then you go on through a footpath which is traversing a cedar forest!
