This is a long sandy beach with lots of tavernas. We ate at To Steki Taverna and enjoyed our meal and swim there.
A nice beach for children - clean water and a sandy bottom. This is rather boring if you are a snorkreller or a serious swimmer.
As for Greece, the beach is quite long (approx 0,5 km) and sandy. Very quite, in Septmber, there were up to 30 people on all of it :). Restaurants and bars in the beach area.
It is the best beach of the island. There are lots of super markets, restaurants, coffee shops and beach bars with sun beds and umbrellas on the beach, but prices are too high for the facillities (no water for shower before you leave from the beach) and if you will be there at high season (20th July - end of Augoust) propably you will have some problems to find a place to lay on the beach, too many people for this place. The place is connected with the capital and other villages of the island with public buses many times a day. Tips: ask for the "Lazarou beach" a small beach hidden behind the right edge of the Platys Gialos beach. You have to be there...play good music, serve cool drinks and coffee, has umbrellas and sea beds and it is located just on the sea!!!
I stayed at Villa Antoniadis with my family and I can say it was the best vacation I've ever had! There was space for kids to play and relax by the pool which was crystal clear! People were really friendly and helpful! They made me feel like I was actually home. The price was really low if you take into account everything they provide you! Summing up, I'd like to add that the location was ideal and the environment proper for children and adults! I'd recommend it unconditionally!!
Well, living in Greece, I have visited millions of beaches like that one, but for a visitor fron another country this beach is wonderfull. It is a typical long, sandy beach. The sea water is crystal crear, deep blue, not very deep and warm. It is the perfect beach to play bolleyball inside the sea or to relax listening music. Many cafe on the beach which offer sunbeds on the sand and serve you there. you will find nice music, sea sports and many facilities there. A crowded place, suitable for families (not deep water, perfect for kids) and joung persons. There are many restaurants around .
One of the most famous beaches in Sifnos. Very large, nice sand, bring your mask and tuba and you'll see lot of life beneath ! you still have to pay for the transat and umbrella, was a bit expensive
This is one of the longest beaches in Sifnos, nice & clean and has sand, the only problem is that in places it runs a bit narrow so your literally sitting in the sea:-)
The beach was really good ,family friendly ,you can find there coffee shops ,restaurants and summer bars
Great beach, relaxed atmosphere, great restaurants and a truly relaxing place to be. I guess one of my favourite places in the whole world (well the bits I have been to so far)!
Getting into the see you will find a few stones you have to watch, after a few meters you find sand.TO AVOID in the middle of the beach, there is a space belonging to the municipality with sun umbrellas and sunbeds. For few meters of shade they charge 4 euro per sunbed (8 for two under one umbrella) which is outrageous specially since no other service is offered. I recommend you to walk a few meters and go to any beach tavern where you can have a sunbed and an umbrella for the price of a coffee 2,50-3 euro
This beach was the pride of Sifnos before the very badly planned harbor was built a few years ago shifting the beach's sand to one side and stripping it of much of it's space and beauty.Another thoughtless and bad move from the local and incompetent authorities.
We were there for two weeks, the beach is a long strip so there is a spot for every kind of person. there was a section with many young beautiful people (around Palmira beach bar), a lot of them local. A section with more families, kids older people etc and if you are like us and prefer solitude, there is enough space for that too! The beach is clean, transparent water, no beach venders harrassing you, and it is very safe. We could leave all our stuff on the shore whilst snorkeling without a worry.
If you are looking for crazy, like super paradise, don't come here. However, if you want to slip into the calm, cool ocean, this is the place. Lots of restaurants and places to have drinks along the boardwalk.
Busy party beach, with many bars and restaurants located right on the sand. If you're looking to party, this is a great place.
