While investigating inherited property near the Aidonia village, 10kms from Nemae Greece, we noticed a posted sign indicating this cultural site and decided to visit it. Its located in a mountainous region and is accessible by a narrow paved road. Ten-twelve excavated tombs are open and easily entered since no gates or barriers, at this time, are evident. While not usually excited by ancient sites, upon entering we were awed by the sight these cavernous tombs and could only speculate about their previous contents. Further research revealed the tombs were officially excavated in 1977 but found to have been looted of their gold treasures. Neverthelessits well worth a visit if your in the area.
