Visitors to ST Anton often overlook this little gem tucked away on the left side of the large and confusing ski map. It does require a vehicle of some sort to get there, but if you ar traveling with a UK tour operator, they often offer this as an "away day". Well worth the trip. The ski area though not large has a really good "off piste" bowl which is easily acceasable from one of the chairlifts. It also has the STEEPEST BLACK run in the whole Arlberg ski area. The Mottjocle restaurant at the top of the Reidkopf chairlift is relativly new and is in a stunning position giving you great views over the area.

Nice ski area, enough to keep you busy for a day, a nice escape from St Anton as the slopes are quieter. I would recommend it for beginners and intermediate skiers. Free car park opposite to gondola station.

Great snow conditions and no crowds. It is a smaller ski area than surrounding areas like Lech and St. Anton and if you are looking for vibrant apres ski it is probably not the right place for you. Food on the mountain was superb.

This was one of the best resorts in the area and was great skiing. Not far from St christoph. Guides were really helpful

we really enjoyed the Sonnenkopf ski area, it was super easy to reach from our apartments (Alpine Lodge in Klösterle), not too big though it still offers slopes of all difficulties.

Getting to Sonnenkopt from the St Anton / Lech area requires some organisation on bus times from Stuben. It is well worth the effort.By April [as when I last visited in December] there is no skiing low on the mountain to get back to the valley. Lift has to be taken from the top to return to the base station: you cannot get on at the middle station to go down.Lots of fairly short [ie less than 3km] Red runs served by a single 4 person lift in the centre of the area are the key to the area. All are quite wide but have challenge from uneven camber and undulating slopes.All else leads off the main lift with family areas and some really straightforward blues making good skiing for early stage skiers.Food is really well priced in the large self service restaurant at the top of the main lift.Very quiet midweek slopes.

Perfect for our family, kids 8 & 10. No ques for the lifts,lots of blue & red sloopes. Skischool were good. The reastaurant at the top is best loved our stay.

The Sonnenkopf ski area is difficult to get to if you are staying in St Anton or Lech but if you have transport or are prepared to fork out for the taxi what you'll find is a great little ski area which is really quiet in the weekdays. That being the case you have the luxury of no queues at lifts and entirely empty pistes.Definitely worth a day trip

There are so many good skiers in St Anton that love powder. Still most of them don't know about Sonnenkopf that is also included in the skipass. Enjoy a day of your vacation here when there's fresh snow. Have a combi picnique in the basement of the restaurant - buy a draft beer to drink along with your own sandwiches and then round off by ordering an Apfel Strudel mit Vanilliensauce in the kiosk. Great concept - and the only place in the entire Arlberg area where you can eat your own food inside, which in itself is ridiculously bad.The icing on the cake is when you take the highest chair (Glattingrat) and go down the gentle bowls towards Nenziggasttal (the end before you reach the bottom of the valley is steep). This is one of the greatest powder runs in the entire area. Take the bus back to Stuben from the bus-stop at Arlberg Express or order a taxi to pick you up.

Came here on a day trip from Bludenz in mid January right after the big snowfall to a brilliant and very cold sunny day . The pistes were groomed to perfection and it was like skiing on cotton, just the right thing after a 12 month ski pause. The ski area is very family friendly with many easy slopes and not linked to its big brother St Anton other then by ski-bus. There is a very comprehensive and chic sports shop at the bottom gondola station where you can rent and buy gear. Parking right by the gondola station is free and there is another one under tunnel on the other side of the road near Klösterle. I drove over the main Arlbergstrasse to get there and for the return I choose the Klostertal local road through the snow covered villages, magic !

Super Möglichkeiten, von Carving-Pisten, Puckelpiste, Vielzahl an Skirouten, die top sind! Es hat für alle Schneesportler etwas!

Ein Skigebiet das neben dem großen Arlberggebiet klein aussieht aber durchaus einen Besuch wert ist. Wir nutzen gerne am Anreisetag den Halbtagesskipass ab Mittags, um am ersten Skitag ein paar Abfahrten zu machen. Die Talabfahrt ist richtig schön zum laufenlassen und die Kabinenbahn bringt einen schnell wieder nach oben. Im oberen Teil des Skigebietes gibt es nette rote aber auch blaue Abfahrten und zum Geländefahren zwischen den Sesselliften gibt es genug Gelegenheiten.

Bereits zum 5. Mal waren wir dieses Jahr auf dem Sonnenkopf.Am ersten Tag „Kaiserwetter“ und die Pisten bestens präpariert.Am 2. Tag war die Sicht nicht gut und für uns als „gemäßigte“ Skifahrer war das natürlich nicht optimal. Wir brachen nach wenigen Fahrten oben auf dem Berg ab und verbrachten den Tag – nachdem keine Besserung der Verhältnisse in Aussicht war – eben im Tal mit Shopping in Bludenz und einem anschließenden Saunabesuch in unserem Hotel „Gasthaus Post“ in Dalaas.In der Nacht zum dritten Tag kam recht viel Schnee. Leider wurden die Pisten sowohl oben als auch auf der Waldabfahrt nicht planiert. Das ist uns in früheren Jahren hier noch nie passiert und machte das Fahren äußerst problematisch und für uns nicht mehr attraktiv, sondern eher gefährlich. Dies führt auch zur dramatischen Abwertung in diesem Jahr. Schade – wir hatten uns wieder sehr auf dieses Gebiet gefreut und wurden leider dieses Mal doch sehr enttäuscht !

Obwohl für österreichische Verhältnisse ein eher kleines Skigebiet, war es für uns als "Skiamateure" ausreichend groß und fordernd, um hier selbst in der Hochsaison (Winterferienzeit) 3Tage lang bestens präparierte Pisten und vergleichsweise wenig Andrang genießen zu können.Angenehme Staffelpreise für Mehrtagespässe und viel Sonne lassen uns das Gebiet in guter Erinnerung behalten...

Erst einmal Danke an das nette und hilfsbereite personal im Gastrobereich und an den Liftanlagen.Es ist ein schönes kleines Skigebiebt mit super Pisten für gross und klein ,für anfänger wie ich es war ist es wirklich super zum Lernen auf Ski oder snowboard.Wanderer kommen auch auf ihre kosten schöne Wege auch für ältere Menschen.
