Went here for the first time last September and absolutely loved it! Great cocktails and Deniz is a great lad. Very friendly service and the view of the sun over the hill adds to those early evening Long Island Ice Teas. Motown normally playing, which made me love this place even more.Thoroughly recommend it for anyone visiting.
Deniz is lovely and makes fabulous cocktails. The bar is simply and elegantly furnished, and the tunes are brilliant (soulful oldies and a bit of Motown). One of the best places to be in Kalkan as the sun goes down.
What a nice guy running this bar.. Deniz... He does cocktails to your requirements.. Very nice setting up steps above a shop... Wonderful..
What a surprise - staying across the road walked right past it during the day - checked trip advisor for a good bar and found this little gem.It is well worth popping in to see Deniz and his brother. Smashing cocktails and the atmosphere is chilled.
We tried a few places and found Deniz beachfront bar the best.Unfortunately you had blearing bad music from the neighbouring bars but Deniz has great atmosphere, look out for their cute puppy Zilly!Try their margarita! Amazing
If you are looking for somewhere to escape the hustle and bustle of the main town centre; to chill out with laid back music, with a reasonably priced ‘quality’ cocktail or three, I would highly recommend that you check out Deniz Cocktail Bar. Deniz’s bar is situated on a first floor roof terrace, approximately 10 minutes slow walk from Kalkan town centre- or 2 minutes by taxi cab (TL 10)- refer to Trip Adviser map. Fortunately for us however, our hotel was just across the road, so perfectly located for a number of repeat visits! Deniz is the perfect host, friendly and very welcoming, and more than happy to concoct any cocktail to match your desire. Albeit, saying that, his cocktail list is pretty extensive already, containing the usual candidates plus a few more. For me, Deniz’s House Cocktail (TL 16), was truly delicious, and one of my favourites, certainly worthy of a number of additional refills for sure! Overall, we did however try out four other cocktails from the menu, and without exception, all were made to perfection, tasting as one would expect, and none at a premium cost (maximum priced cocktail from the menu was TL 19). Even my teenage daughter managed to finish off all of her alcohol free cocktail, the first empty glass we saw from her all holiday! In addition to the above, for me the music, more oldies Soul and Motown classics, sourced directly from various internet radio specialist sites, made the few nights that we spent at Deniz even more special. Certainly a pleasant change from the looped copy artist pop tunes seemingly played in the majority of restaurants and bars we experienced in town. On my last night I officially nominated Deniz as the ‘Soul Man of Kalkan’–and he seemed quite pleased with his new nickname as we left waving him a fond farewell /and hopefully not a forever goodbye. Looks like top marks from another Trip Advisor reviewer yet again! Good luck Deniz, you are doing a fantastic job. Votes/comments please on nominating Deniz as the official ‘Soul Man of Kalkan’.
We initially stumbled across Deniz's after a walk back from town and popped in for a well deserved drink. Gladly this was at the start of the holiday as it become a regular part of our holiday. Deniz's drinks are made to perfection, an extensive cocktail menu and very reasonably priced too. To top this off the location is perfect, as his roof top terrace is in a great position to catch the evening breeze with a relaxed friendly atmosphere Lastly, the host is so welcoming and friendly you'll feel this is your local after the first visit.I highly recommend this bar, certainly well worth a visit, made an already great holiday that much better.
If your idea of a good night is karaoke, songs sung by wannabe's from the X-Factor etc, drinking cocktails with OTT names, such as, Slippery Nipple, Sex On The Beach, the list goes on then maybe this cocktail bar is NOT for you, however, if you prefer understated surroundings, Motown/soul music playing in the background, quality furniture to sit on and a host that puts together excellent, reasonably priced cocktails - this IS the place for you!Its not difficult to see why Deniz Cocktail Bar has gained a very good reputation so quickly, deservedly, Deniz knows exactly what the majority of customers want. The cocktail bar sits above the Can Can supermarket, owned by the same family I'm ensured, up the Kalamar road, better known variously as cardiac or heartbreak hill!!There is a 'happy hour' 6-9pm, all cocktails priced at 14TL. My personal favourite, the 'Dingo'.This is an excellent cocktail bar - give it a try!
There is a happy hour here (sitting here as we write this) go here, the cocktails are the best, fantastic attention to detail. You must go here and order a Long Island Ice Tea
We have been visiting Kalkan for quite a few years now and met Deniz for the first time whenhe was working at "Pasha's"We always found him to be extremly charming, helpful and a really nice sincere chap.we were thrilled to bits to find he had opened his own Cocktail Bar above the Familyshop. His Cocktails are second to none. His attention to detail is superb. It is so nice to be able to stop off en route to the town and spend time in this delightful little bar, watching the world go by, sipping a cocktail listening to lovely music.Well done Deniz and best wishes for the future. kindest regards. Gill and Adie, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. NB. Tell Marj and Dave who are still lucky enough to be out there to have a cosmoplitan for me. X
Just returned from Kalkan, and found that Deniz has opened up his own bar this year, it is a must visit.Cocktails are superb, and there is an extensive menu, however if there is a cocktail you want that is not on the menu, just ask Deniz and it is no trouble at all he will make it for you.The bar is a rooftop, very cosy settees, and atmosphere great with good music. Can't wait to return and see you next year Deniz.
Great place to visit for a cocktail before a meal. Great drinks always served with a smile. Denis makes you feel very welcome and will advise on restaurants etc. and the music was good and not too loud.
We visited Deniz' cocktail bar for first time this summer. A wonderful place to relax with a drink. His cocktails are unique.
We stayed in Kalkan for two weeks in September and were so lucky as when we came out of our hotel and turned right the first place we came across was Deniz cocktail bar. It is lovely. Very informal and relaxed; he is professional, friendly and helpful and makes a superb cocktail! Also offers a very good glass of wine (and a generous measure!) which unfortunately I only discovered on my last night!
Stayed in Kalamar and this bar was near to our apartment, located just above Can Can supermarket. Deniz the owner is lovely and the cocktails here are amazing. Good selection of non alcoholic cocktails too. Recommend the Espresso Martini! Definitely worth stopping by on your way into Kalkan if staying in Kalamar.
