The Icelandic War time museum is set up in a old army camp who used to be located in Reyðarfjörður during the world War two.We can take a lok at how the soldiers who where mostly young men in ther erly twentys passed there time during ther time in this small fishing vilage on east coast of Iceland. The population of this town where about 300 at this time but the number of soldiers where ábótavant 3000Old Húna uniforms and other artifacts are on display and we can se insite a barac like them used to look like.Interesting for those who have interest in this part of worlds history.First of Júlí there is a small festival celebrating or remembering the first day of this occupation of this small town, and people like to dress up in clothes from that era and we can se soldiers walking around the town in uniforms same as the one Örn by the Brithish soldiers who came here.
A very interesting museum about Iceland during World War II. There are lot of photos, models, weapons ; you can expect a 1h visit easily.
