We drove from Zadar up to Kolan on Pag Island to visit Gligora cheese producers this August. For anyone who loves cheese, especially hard cheeses, this is a mandatory excursion to make. As already mentioned in other reviews, you start with a visit of the subterranean facilities and finish with a tasting of a variety of their cheeses in the tasting room. We thought our affable guide had said that the cheese tasting was included in the price of the tour but somehow we were still charged separately for the tasting afterward. In any case, it was still worth the price because the cheese making facilities are interesting to see and the cheeses are exquisite, truly some of the most delicious cheeses I have tasted in a very long time (and I frequently eat and try cheeses). As an added incentive, the landscape and scenery during the drive up from Zadar is spectacular. Additionally, their cheeses are beautifully packaged, travel well, and make for great gifts. My only regret is not being able to take the whole cheese shop home with me!

If youre in the area of the island of pag and looking for something different than only beaches this is a nice tour of a special cheese factory. The nice thing is that you get a plate of cheese for tasting as part of the tour...We were rained out one day so this was a perfect solution...

We visited this cheese factory / restaurant with small children. We started with cheese plates, all of the cheese offered there were great, especially the two-year-old 'Paski sir'. Then we also had the chance to see the factory, which is not a long trip, but definitely worth it. If you liked the cheese, you can buy them in the store next to the factory.

They offer you a free tour in the factory, when you ordered something from the tasting menu. Really nice (and tasty:) to know about how this special Pag-cheese is made. And the woman was a really fun woman, so I would recommend to do this. It's a typical product from Croatia.

We had a very nice stop at this factory. A good selection of cheese's to taste. Nice wine and nice extras to come with the cheese. We didn't join the tour, but we saw a presentation of the factory and That was good enough for us.We spent some time in the cheese store which was also very nice.Happy we went here!Anna

We went to Sirana Gligora to buy some cheese. We have realized that cheese from Gligora is the best cheese in Croatia. We can recommend Zigljen and Paski sir.

Had a surprise tour of the factory when our hosts here in Zadar suggested it (they called ahead to arrange the tour) - it was wonderful! The sheep milk comes in January through June and is all hand milked by small family farms on the island - the wheels are individually rotated, oiled, etc and the tour guide was very good answering my questions. We had no idea what to expect from the tasting - it served as our surprise lunch and was perfect - also got several items from the gift shop and definitely enjoyed ourselves:-) Note: we did have some trouble finding where the tour actually started from - but the guide found us so that worked out ok... Also, I don't think you can just tour without the tasting but I thought it was completely worthwhile for the price so we did not mind at all!

Very profesional and smiling faces will meet you at Sirana Gligora. You will learn about cheese production have a chance to see it , smell it and taste it. Finaly, there is nice small shop where you can purchase even small pieces for the gifts.I sincearely recomend it.

I must say that conceptually I don't agree w/the idea of wrapping up a tour and tasting and charging for it.. Having said that, this is without a doubt the second best cheese (behind Parmesano Reggiano) that I have eaten. We swam against the current and were able to talk our way into a micro tasting after which we purchased numerous wheels. The young lady was nice, and the facility was spotless. Highly recommended!

My husband and I drove from Zadar to Pag (about 45 mins) to take a tour of the factory and buy some cheese. The tours are offered every hour and only cost 65 kuna. Unfortunately, we learned at the cheese shop where you buy your tickets that there was a conflict and they weren't being offered. No problem - we really enjoyed the drive (great views!) and we were most interested in buying some cheese. While inquring about the different cheese options and asking if we could have a taste, we received unwelcome service, little assistance, and were told we could only taste the sheep cheese (new only, not the aged) and the sheep/cow mix. The actual samples we received were quite small, about the size of three match sticks. The lady had initially cut off a slightly bigger piece, but cut it smaller and put the leftovers back in the plastic wrap. This experience was the exact opposite of what we had received on the island of Hvar from a great little shop that offered wonderful cheese, curd meats, olives, etc. We ended up buying quite a bit of cheese and some olive oil since our vacation was coming to an end, but we left disappointed with the experience.

I wrote to Gligora Sirana a couple of days before we were to drive to Pag. They have tastings every day, every hour on the hour from 9,00 to 16,00. You must buy your ticket 10-15 minutes before in the cheese shop.I believe the cost was 65 kuna per person. This was a very interesting trip with a tour through their facility which showed each step in the production of their cheese. We were all impressed by the impeccably clean facility. Their cheese production is subject to rigorous quality control. After this visit, I would be leary of purchasing "domaci sir" (homemade cheese) that you often see roadside. The tasting was a sampling of Paski Sir (sheep's milk cheese), goat cheese and cow cheese and a combination of all of them, as well as a truffle cheese.Everyone had a different favorite! proving that they were all delicious. It was a good illustration to eat them all side by side, as you really were able to understand your own palate and preferences. I thought that the Sheep/Goat Combo was the best.

I visited the Paski cheese factory in May 2012 and was really impressed. Im not sure if a normal tour includes as much as we get to see - but the best part was the cheese tasting afterwards! After a local strong drink for starters we got a generous plate with the cheese they produce. The Truffle cheese was my absolut favorite (I still dream of it), and the famous Paski cheese and the blended one are also excellent! With this we had good bread and local wine :) The factory also has a little shop where you can buy all of their cheeses in different sizes and other product of Pag. Definitely worth a visit!

Nessun valore aggiunto, nessun assaggio, nessun consiglio.... Evitate! Non è corretto! Viene così evidenziato un prezzo gonfiato !
