regional historical museum

Went there with my girlfriend (who does not speak Bulgarian), luckily there was a worker there who spoke English very well (so I didn't have to translate). The museum was filled with many interesting artifacts and information about ancient civilizations that you have not learned in school! They also have a very nice coin collection and other very unique and interesting cultural artifacts such as coins and possible tracing origin of the snake used as a symbol for hospitals and so on. They also have an exhibit about the career possibilities in Kyustendil about a century ago. All an all, it was a great visit and you can learn great information from it! I would recommend it to anyone!

This museum is small but it has some very interesting and historically important exhibits, including a wonderful selection of coins that have been presented in a very professional way. It was interesting and a great surprise to find that all the signage was in English as well as Bulgarian. Visiting this museum is a great introduction to the history of southwestern Bulgaria. It is conveniently located very close to the train station and is well worth the small price of admission.

This small museum is located close to the train station. Though it might be small it is very professional and is quite informative. The descriptions are in English as well as Bulgarian. The docent when I visited didn’t speak English, but was very fluent in Spanish. Most of the items are small, and go from prehistoric to the present time. The coin collection was really interesting and well presented. There are larger items outside on the grounds such as sarcophagi and sculptures.
