I have had the chance of going several times with friends to this casino and although I do not gamble my self, it is not just a gambling destination with a well appointed hotel and restaurant options. An excellent alternative to Santiago metro or Rancagua the 2 biggest nearest cities. Highly recommend a visit.
My mom is fan of gambling, she has a platinum membership from Monticello Gran Casino, which has a lot of benefits, such as free nights at the Monticello hotel. Last summer we booked a room at the hotel and it was a marvellous experience. When we arrived we went to the bar, which was very colourful and spacious, then we enjoyed a few drinks and we ate an appetizer while we appreciated through the window of the bar the great view overlooking the gardens casino, it was a very nice time. Later we visited to heated pool and we were swimming for a couple of hours, after that we went to our room and two people gave us a wonderful massage, which was very relaxing. In the morning we took a spectacular buffet breakfast with many delicious things to eat. Having finished this, we went to the casino and we played for some hours and I had good luck because I won great money betting on slot machines! Really I recommend this place, is really lovely in all senses! People who work there is very kind, the location of the hotel is beautiful near of countryside. The food is very tasty; there is a great variety of dishes. And the most important to me is that the rooms are airy and comfortable, you can have a real rest and let you hair down. So please, if you want the opportunity to come, just do it because you won’t regret it.
On Wednesday the 3 April my gorgeous Uncle wanted to share his favourite pastime with me and took me to the Montecello for a night of dining, playing and staying in a lovely location. The hotel overall looked beautiful, but as time passed by I realised that it was only on the outside, the following were the sequence of events that occurred in my less than 24 hour stay.As I started getting ready for the evening and had a shower, the drain was blocked (1st incident) and water went all over the bathroom floor and because there are no drains in the main part of the bathroom water went onto the carpet and into my room. I called the front desk immediately; maintenance came and soon after so did housekeeping to clean everything up. So, I had no privacy and had to wait for your employees to leave and then had to rush to get ready. In the morning the television (2nd incident) didn’t work, I called the front desk to advise them just in case it blew up I did not want to be held responsible.I went to have a shower and I had no water (3rd incident), none at all and could only hear the pipes making a lot of noise as they were shaking, it was a little scary. I called front desk again, they couldn’t do anything, so I just went to breakfast. After breakfast I returned to my room in a third and final attempt to have a shower and thankfully something came out, the pipes were still very noisy as it squirted and splattered but it was enough to prepare for the day. I also had the mini bar attendant interrupt me twice as I was attempting to leave the hotel, once for no reason and the second to count the mini bar.As I went to brush my teeth the water was yellow and contaminated (4th incident). I was disappointed with the management of operations contingency plan to find out that, yes, the hotel knew the problem and had the potential to make people sick, but your hotel staff DID NOTHING to communicate and avoid this.I’ve worked in many international hotels in Australia and England and was disappointed in the NO ACTION of your management. On my departure I spoke with the manager on duty who said that yes, I was right they should have called all the rooms that were still occupied to advise them of the water contamination issue and the hotel should have supplied complimentary water to all rooms.Overall, the property is beautiful, but I would be scared to visit again, how can so many things go wrong with absolutely no management interference? But overall, I felt really bad for my Uncle that went out of his way to share their favourite pastime and it was completely ruined by ongoing incidences during our stay.On another note, as I looked through your services when it included a charge it was in English, but all the evacuation procedures are only in Spanish, this is cheeky.
After a week's work in Chile, had a night and good part of the following day before my flight out of Santiago. Did not have success securing a reservation at the hotel via the website, but was told rooms were available. The hotel is very upscale; the room was spacious and very modern with a spectacular view of the valley from wall-length windows. I took advantage of everything - huge bathtub, nice shower, free chocolates from the staff, cheap spa ($60 for an hour massage?? Sign me up after busting my a-s for a week!)... the room was expensive since I'm not a club member, but whatever, it was worth it. Nice bar with a big terrace for lounging, excellent hot breakfast buffet with live piano music.. you really feel like you're experiencing luxury. I would definitely stay here again given the opportunity. Two things I did not care for as much: 1) the casino. I just paid close to $400 for a night at the hotel, a massage at the spa, and breakfast, and I still have to pay the stupid $5 to get into the casino so I can lose money (thankfully I didn't)? The buffet and its service were craptastic- fed up waiting, I had to walk myself up front to pay the bill. Also I've been here several times before and I remember it being a younger crowd with a fun vibe... it's changed. Much older clientele, and they had this weird "party pit" with clowns and cowboys dancing around. Where am I, Sesame Street? I'm here to have adult fun, not feel like I'm at a carnival for little kids. Tried to ignore all this on my way to the blackjack tables.2) The check-in/check-out process was wayyyy too long. Sat there for what seemed like ages each time. Guests want to get in, grab keys, and go relax (aka spend money at your bar or casino). Management, you need to make this process faster and easier.
Large and beautiful casino. They always have contests and different shows during the week. The smoke can be a problem. There is a boulevard where you can find Restaurants (pasta and pizza.. not very good, Meat.. excellent, seafood.. never tried it), coffee place, "LaFete" chocolates.. definitely try it!, lots of games for kids and roller costers, really nice! (open in the afternoon only).
Several varied good restuarants, a typical casino environment, clean and generally helpful staff. However the smoking section is horrid and if you are staying at the hotel you have to walk through this area.
