As the title says. The drums are excellent and you can feel the vibrations through the floor! Atmosphere is great. Anyone can join in the dancing, it looks like Zumba going on!
Such a great vibe band atmosphere. You can't help but dance. Such talent and energy. Do this in Salvador.
As we were looking through Pelourinho and some delegates from Petrobras were having an Oldodum performance laid on for them. And boy did we enjoy it with then.Only seeing them play live can do them full justice. Just make it a part of your Salvador stay. Also, please buy your Olodum souvenirs from their school shop. Any other goods see no money go to the school and for the work they do with and for the children, they deserve the support.
We came across this band by accident whilst walking through the square one day. Very good, hooked and even purchased their CD.
This is one thing you must do in. Salvador. They are amazing. Such an energy. Different from anything you have seen. Surely recommend.
Only hearing the sound you can evaluate the emotion and tachycardia you will feel. They play all togheter with a rhythm and a tuning indescribable.
Their music is amazing! They have a unique rhythms that are very catchy and unforgettable. I felt like I was part of the band!
Just for the sake of that famous street, it is good only to visit once and quick glance only. And the best time to visit during day time and not to visit after 5 pm, in the evening alone.
Olodum is the soul of Salvador. It is impossible to stay still when they start playing their drums. They play on the small streets of Pelourinho and walk around this neighborhood gathering followers along the way. I loved every minute of it and would have followed them wherever they went for as long they wanted to play.
Skin head, dead headEverybody gone badSituation, aggravationEverybody allegationIn the suite, on the newsEverybody dog foodBang bang, shot deadEverybody's gone madAll I wanna say is thatThey don't really care about us...If that King of Pop video ever resonated with you, make Casa do Olodum one of your top sightseeing stops in Salvador. Salvador's best-known percussion group (featured in Michael Jackson's video) are simply a joy to watch! With their school located in the heart of Pelourinho, Olodum is known to perform live shows around town, often on Tuesdays or Sundays. To make sure you don't miss it, find someone who speaks Portuguese to call up the school and find out if they will be performing at Pelo Square, on either day. Make sure to find out the exact time of the performance.I was lucky because there was a Brazil football match on the Tuesday I visited Pelo Square and Globo TV was filming Olodum for a live national broadcast. Of the four days I spent in Salvador, the ten minutes I spent watching the Olodum were my most memorable.
This is the most famous music group in Bahia. All percussion , carnaval music and more. It is such an amazing experience, there is so much soul and energy in the music. Worth every second to understand how the music and the heart pulse together.
Excellent choice for anybody who wants to get in touch of the local culture, impossible not to dance when you hear the sound of drums, so much joy!
Have to love drums to be interested in this attraction, but if you're a percussion sound lover you can't miss it. The power of the music makes your heart bump, you're skin to be all chicken like. Worth the show especially if you're around the Pelourinho area.
Olodum performances are not always on, but we struck lucky here. On one of the mornings of our stay a crew was filming a performance by Olodum drummers in the streets of Pelourinho- with constant retakes we got a great show.
They performed outside the night we saw them. It was my birthday so I saw their performace as a large birthday party for myself. They were amazing and this is coming from someone who lives in West Africa 4/5 months a year. So I see and hear many drums being played. It was the size of the performance and the movements that impressed me
