Great tour by knowledgeable Samoans. Beautiful house full of memories and RL's writing room is really evocative.

We are so glad that we took the time to visit. We arrived early before the tour groups. The guides were very informative and friendly. We had one young girl and we were her first clients, her smile and enthusiasm were a delight. The respect and love that the locals have for the author and his family is quite amazing. The gardens are so well maintained. Thank you for keeping the home of a great author in such a great state for us to visit.

We found this to be a highlight of our stay in Samoa, we had a lovely guide through the house with loads of knowledge about the house and the life of Robert Louse Stevenson.

This is a beautiful colonial villa and is well maintained. The grounds are beautiful and the house is well worth a stop. At $20 per head it is dear for Samoa- but was very pretty.

Stunning location, beautiful old homestead even without the drawcard of it being RL Stevenson's home and resting place. Our guide was lovely and the singing was a nice touch even if he was a little bit handy when it come to group photo opportunity! I'm not sure if this is possible but it would make a great picnic location - Samoa being so friendly, probably not an issue.

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon vist to this museum. Our guide was delightful & we learnt so much about R>L Stevenson & his family. This grand house is in a delightful location looking over Apia & the harbour below. It is a must see in Apia.

Well worth a visit.Staff very informative about his life and time in Samoa. you get personally shown around the house by a tour guide. The tour guide was very informative and helpful. You are allowed to take pictures in the museum. Amazing view from the house veranda to the sea and surrounding grounds. The house is in great condition and has been refurbished very well. There's a walk up the mountain to his grave.....about 30 mins walk but we didn't have time to do this....Great place to visit :)

Having read so many of his books, it was such a treat to be able to see where some of them were written. The grounds are very well maintained, and the house has been made to look as it was when RLS lived there. A small museum, but with a feeling that is big as you can imagine RLS walking in the door and almost see him reclining in his sick bed, finishing off another great book. A must if you visit Apia. The walk to his tomb is worth doing too.

We had an opportunity to visit this wonderful Museum and it was like taking a step back in time. A lot of the original furnishings in the home had been updated due to age but still there was also a lot of the original items owned and used by Robert and his family during his time there. So sad, that he had died so young when there was so much that he could contribute to the literary world. The home was well maintained any for any mad historic/literary buffs visiting Samoa, this is well worth a visit.

A great adventure for the family. His home is magnificent and worth the tour!|The tour guide shares interesting facts and you gain an appreciation of how great this Gentleman was, how much he contributed to the local and political landscape. After touring this magnificent property take your mosquito repellent and wear long sleeves and take a hike up the track. Take water, pack a picnic and enjoy the scenery and experience!

I have a little shadow...I LOVED all of it. The tour guides were knowledgeable and spoke clearly. The approach to the house was a tropical paradise. I would return in a minute as would my husband.

Really interesting visit for those who have an interest in this type of history or even just architecture. Amazing views from the house itself. The tour was actually conducted by about 5 people, 2 speaking and 3 more trailing along behind giggling and talking, we thought maybe they were trainees? Wasn't sure if the tour was necessary, perhaps an information guide and the freedom to wander would be better? Overall though, very glad we made the trip to see the museum.
