I went here with my sister and her children during our visit to Australia and oh, what a wonderful afternoon we had! Robert Gotdon Has a large store where you can browse and buy completed pieces of pottery from cups to plates and vases to money boxes. Further in there is a spacious area with work tables and this is where the magic takes place, just choose a piece of pottery from the shelf (or two!), grab paints, brushes and water and settle down to create something unique. What I love about this place is that you do not have to be an artist, there are lots of pieces on the wall showing you how to and how not to paint so that you will have a good result at the end. To add to the experience you can also purchase tea and coffer etc whilst you are working away. The service is great and it is very relaxing to spend time here. If you are visiting from away like I was, remember that you will need to return a week later to collect your fired piece so do it at the beginning of your trip so you can take it home with you. A nice escape from the hot sun and a lovely way to spend time doing something different.
