We visit numerous markets throughout Country Victoria and go back to many every so often. These are the ones that are consistently well organised, have a wide range of vendors and large patronage (go early to beat the crowded avenues..The Gisborne Olde Time Market ticks all the boxes. Being very close to Melbourne, yet typically country, every first Sunday of the month .guarantees a memorable visit. Expect 100 -150 stalls. The organisers keep a strict control on content and as it's a combination art/craft and farmers market you wont find any second-hand goods or cheap import clothing.. .But if you don't mind such there is another market a block away in the car park of the Supermarket that caters for preloved and unusual products. We take interstate visitors to it as it really makes for a great day. Just watch the weather. Gisborne is in the Macedon Ranges and therefore gets it's fair share of regular rainfall. The odd shower or two early in the day has usually turned into a dry one. But, also watch the wind, when it blows down there it can be quite chilly early on the day despite being summer. The township is very modern and well worth having lunch at one of the many and varied venues.Autumn and Spring are the best seasons to visit. It remains our favourite country market even though we love going to up to a dozen others from time to time.I'll comment on those as they come up and we go back for a visit. We are actually off to Gisborne tomorrow.
