Beautiful Bunya Mountains are only an hours drive from Dalby. These beautiful mountains are alive with native flora and fauna. There are many walking tracks to do so allow plenty of time to see all the beauty of the rainforest. Many choices of accommodation. There is a lovely cafe on the left on the park or a cafe on the right before you get to the park. Always take a jacket and raincoat as both can be needed even in summer. Highly recommended for a day of bush walking. The road is narrow and winding and the last section is a very steep climb.

We liked the wallabies that run free and the native birds that fly over.The Historical cottage/museum was very interesting.There is also a lovely cottage cafe on the right before you get to the park where we had lunch.Theymake their own products using berries from the national park.

Bunya Mountains National Park is full of wildlife in a wide variety of habitats, but the Bunya Pine dominated rainforest is definitely the star of the show. There really is not any other place like it. For us it was a place to escape the tropical heat in a pine-dominated landscape with cool mornings for Christmas. It gave us a taste of our North American Christmas traditions here in the Southern Hemisphere. We stayed several days in excellent accommodation in nearby Dandabah. We enjoyed some of the walking tracks even though we had limited mobility as a family with a two-year-old. Our favorite trail was the Paradise trail, because it gave us easy access to the rain forest and we were able to take our pram all the way to Paradise Falls.

We had the pleasure of rediscovering the Bunya Mountains in 2014 and was extremely excited by the opportunity. Great accommodation, a lovely restaurant and the beautiful National Park to explore. The weather was quite cool and brisk whilst we were there so check before you arrive. The evenings in front of the fire place were to die for. The diversity and range of wildlife and walking tracks made this a dream weekend and one we plan to do again this coming year. A word to the wise, limited to no mobile reception in the area so having a holiday without the children having their heads in a computer or similar device, priceless.

Peaceful, quiet, very scenic. Walking that was reasonably challenging. Solitude. Extensive walking trails through most of the park.

Beautiful and peaceful. A wonderful place with great nature walks and waterfalls. The wildlife is awesome but it's often chilly so take a jacket! Watch out for leeches when it's been wet!

Loved the beautiful pole home situated at the end of the street, as it was peaceful and very private. Cute little wallabies and beautiful birds everywhere!

It is one of my favourite parts of Queensland within the proximity of Brisbane. The walks are amazing and good variety - from short ones that anyone could do to a bit longer…but each offering a truly close-to-nature experience!

Great bush walks, sweet coffe shops to relax at the end, picturesque views and birds and animals galore, what more could anyone want.

What a great place this is to visit. We stayed in a rented house that was very reasonably priced and during the day we went on some bush walks and saw some pretty fantastic scenery and heaps of venomous snakes. The place does lack some facilities like a fuel station and an ATM so you do need to be a little organised if you're going there. The place had more clueless tourists than I would have liked but there isn't much that can be done about that. I hope this place keeps commercialisation to the extent it's at now and doesn't change.

Did the scenic route and it was just that. Probably not overly scenic but very pretty (although very dry and desperately needed rain), and so relaxing. There were only a few others on the same track which meant you were able to hear the birds and be at one with nature. So very peaceful and rejuvenating.

We have holidayed at the Bunya Mountains for many years and are always drawn back by the majestic beauty of the mountains, the huge Bunya and Hoop pines aged up to 400 years old, the Red Cedars, White Woods, Strangler Figs and delicate ferns on the rainforest floor. In this pristine environment birds and animals thrive, from the noisy parrots and rosellas to the spectacular blue fairy wrens and the fascinating bower birds and scrub turkeys. Several species of wallabies delight visitors when they graze at dawn and dusk, letting their joeys out of the pouch to hop around. Bunya Mountains Chalets has a wide range of houses for rent in the rainforest providing visitors with an intimate experience with nature.

Until recently we had been going to the Bunya Mountains every June/July for a week for the past 7 years. I love it and you can book a different house every year. I love the peace, quiet, kangaroo and the parrots that are there. You can go on a wagon ride with Clydesdales and they have difference packages.

We are regular campers at the Dandabar camping ground. It's perfect for the kids and the hot showers and clean facilities are a welcome delight after bushwalking all day. Well done to park staff who keep the grounds and facilities in such great condition.

Loved the scenery and great walks. The Bunya's are an awesome place to relax, walk, eat, drink, and just slip away in.Bit busy, but that is to be expected of a place like this!
