.Quick visit whilst killing time ,too hot to see much.Free entrance and the talking parrots were amusing.
This is run by volunteers and totally rely on donations. This was fabulous. You can walk into a huge aviary to look at the birds close up. Even walk in to the kangaroos. Had a little wallaroo come up to us. Was so cute. Also had cockatoos that spoke. Very enjoyable. The volunteers we spoke to were very friendly. Great for families
Beautiful place have been going for years ,lots of improvements have taken place. kids just love seeing the animals , they can run around in a safe environment. Nice area for BBQ ,or picnic.A great way to spend a few hours , without spending money.
This is a great attraction in Tamworth to take your visitors, particularly those who want to see kangaroos for the first time. The Marsupial park is nestled in the hills at the back of the city and is easy to find with the map of the city available from the information centre or by using maps on line. There is a great bird aviary with local birds from the area, an enclosure where you can get up and close to emus, a cockatoo enclosure where you can talk to the birds who have a great repertoire and more importantly in the near future they will be developing a wonderful children's playground in the rounds which will make it a better attraction for taking children for a great day out. Barbecues are freely available for a meal while you are there but mKe sure you also take water or drinks as there are no cafes in the vicinity
I've been taking my children, and now my grandchildren to visit this lovely park for years, watching it evolve into the feature it is now. You can go for a walk along a bush track and see kangaroos and other animals, have a bbq, visit the big fly aviary, there is lots to see up there, and well worth spending a few hours there with the kids. The adventure playground will be a fantastic edition.
Have enjoyed visiting this place for many years. There have been major improvements over the years with more to come yet. The only down side is that it is a long way to carry eskies etc with food to barbeque. Good bbq facilities. Lots of birds and animals to see as well as sandpit and sand toys for children to play with. Good quality toys.
Gas BBq Play equipment and sand pits for the Kids to play.Ideal bush walk.Birds, Kangaroos and other wildlife
Marsupial park is part of the Victoria Park area which covers around 20 hectares of bushland and walking tracks. There is also access to the Botanic Gardens and the Oxley lookout from this location. With a range of birdlife in the aviaries, including a large, free flight aviary to walk through, an interactive Kangaroo enclosure, Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, Emu's as well other wildlife roaming around - like the few lizards that we spotted along the way. This is a great place for a picnic. Also provided are toilet facilities, free BBQ's and a playground for the kids.Marsupial Park is a free park that is only run by volunteers. Please leave a donation for the people who give their time and effort to keep such a beautiful place open for the public at no charge.
All of the animals were friendly including the cockatoos & galahs. Would make a lovely day out with the family. Don't forget to make a donation.
We love going to the Marsupial Park. There are lots of animals to see and plenty of bush walks. You can walk from the park to the lookout if you are looking for some good exercise. I've been here quite a few times since 2007 and they seem to be constantly updating, which is great. The kids love it here. FYI beware of the magpies in September. There are quite a few which make for a nerve wracking bush walk!
Recommend if you're staying in or passing through Tamworth with young children. Some nice walks, wildlife and a playground.
Free barbecue, clean and nice park, close to the city center, big car park. Only bad thing are the opening hours! Loving it
This park is the most popular outdoor choice for Tamworth families. Currently having a million dollar upgrade. Donation to enter. Run by enthusiastic volunteers. BBQ facilities and a talking cockatoo.
Great family outing , plenty of animals to see , great for birthdays , little bush land in the city . Thoroughly recommend
I love this park. It's great for a day out, for a picnic, have a leisurely walk and visit the animals.
