Nice and relaxed, boat is an absolute gem. Quiet restful. Informative. Told us for the start what to expect. Well informed local , Charlie had us all hanging on his every word. Shame about the bad dad joke. Many people from overseas and he catered to all.enjoyed some of the best scones we had on the whole trip.
If you are new to the area or lived here all your life, you will love this tour. Charlie provides an informative, fun and tasty trip on board his Wagonga Princess. Regardless of your age or stage in life, this is a great afternoon's entertainment.
This tour is one of the most enjoyable tours I have been on. It is full of adventure, fun and history. Enjoyable for all ages, the skipper is a very knowledgeable local, he makes this journey most enjoyable. You also get to taste local oysters and scones, jam and billy tea, if you are up for an afternoon of family adventure you have to try this tour.
This was definately a highlight for my first ever Narooma trip and that you simply MUST try it!!Charlie (owner and operator) is not only funny with his jokes, but he also provides an excellent education on the history of Narooma, the fauna and flora, the people, the Wagonga Princess and the local oysters (good golly......might i just say that you will NEVER forget tasting these oysters). The scones and devonshire billy tea are JUST delicious too!!!You'd seriously be kidding yourself if you didn't participate in the unforgettable Wagonga Inlet Cruise on the Wagonga Princess!!!!!
Well worth it much better than i expected, charlie is great educational and entertaining great scones and oysters and a cold beer after at fisherman's club.
We really enjoyed our cruise on the Wagonga Inlet; the owner-operator was very funny and informative and we saw some really beautiful sights. The afternoon tea with scones was great too.
Charlie amazed us with his depth of knowledge and the local history of the Wagonga Inlet. The trip was entertaining and full of anecdotes about Charlie and his family's multi-generational connection to the area. The Wagonga Princess has a marvelous history also. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting the Narooma area. It was a highlight of our short stay in Narooma!
An afternoon with Wagonga Inlet cruises is a must if you are overnighting in Narooma. The cruise takes about 90 minutes in the Wagonga Princess, a 100+ year old steam ferry that its present owner has converted to DC electric power. More about the owner. Charlie Perretti is a local electrician who bought the Princess and converted her from diesel to electric power (she was originally powered by steam). To say the least she's quiet. Wagonga Inlet is extensive and Charlie"s tours are extensive. A third generation local whose Dad was an oyster farmer, he really knows the history of the place and its oyster industry. It's an afternoon well spent because the inlet has a great variety of flora and fauna. We were lucky to see a pair of ospreys during our cruise. Highly recommended.
Our family had a very good time onboard Charlie's cruise. Charlie is a very friendly & personable character who makes you feel very welcome aboard. Even our teenager forced a smile or two! Our 4 year old got to wear the captains hat & drive the boat, which was a great thrill!! It was a little squishy for room but that was my only complaint. Well worth it if your visiting narooma. Just keep in mind to visit the bathroom before you head off as there's obviously no toilet facilities & it's an almost 3 hour journey all up! We also took our baby who was very well behaved, although in hindsight given the small size of the cabin interior & the length of the journey, it could have been a much different trip had he of played up! Thank goodness he didn't.
thank you ever so much! this was an amazing trip, and gave us lots of information about the area. we are from the uk and did this cruse during our trip to Australia. thoroughly enjoyed! defiantly worth a go! :)
We took our 5 yr old twins on the Devonshire cream tea cruise this afternoon and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Charlie is a fantastic guide. He is incredibly knowledgable and full of hilarious jokes; some of which are definitely not PC - brilliant. The inlet is beautiful; so peaceful. We stopped off for an informative little walk, billy tea and delicious scones. The children even got to 'drive' the boat. A wonderful way to spend a relaxing afternoon; can't recommend it highly enough!
Great afternoon relaxing cruise on an electric powered boat. (No fumes and quiet) Fully enclosed so you won't catch a chill. Charlie is a wonderful storyteller, born and bred local with a mountain of knowledge, information and a joke or two. Stopped off for a very easy short walk and afternoon billy tea and scones before heading back. Highly recommended for all ages and good value for money!!
Very enjoyable, informative and relaxing. The owner of the boat is a very lucky individual - I couldn't think of a better way to past time. Our 3yr old son thuroughly enjoyed the trip!
Charlie and his boat showed us around the bay. He entertained us with stories about the animals and his childhood experiences in the bay. After 1,5 hours we went for a walk on the island, where we got the best scones I've eaten in entire Australia, gorgeous tea cooked on a fire and some Sydney Rock Oysters. This was an afternoon well spent. A must do! And it costs only 35$/pp.
Brilliant and informative and an eco electric boat, a stop off for a rainforest walk and a super afternoon billy tea and scones.Had a very enjoyable time our host was full of interesting facts and information.
