mcwilliam's hanwood estate

Doing a tour of some vineyards while in Australia and McWilliams had to be on the list. Back home we can get this wine, but it's great to see the vineyard and to taste the wine where it is made. A great day out, good company and a great selection of wine. Getting stocked up for the festive season.

Visited during the VIP Discovery Function Weekend and had a great visit. Informative and enjoyable thanks to Claire who explained the wine business and all of the McWilliams organisation exploits. So nice to get a personal touch as she is a sixth generation McWilliams.Oh yes the wines are great and of high quality with variety to suit most tastes. McWilliams had decided to open the cellar door on the Sunday for the VIP Weekend. Didn't get to do a full tour of the complex but I'm sure it would be eyeopening. Just the size of their Tank farm is impressive.Make this a must if visiting Griffith area.

The staff were very helpful and the wines we sampled were of high quality. Joining the wine club gave us the added benefit of a nice discount on wine purchases and the discount even extends to meals which we utilised at the McWilliam's outlet in the Hunter Valley where meals are served
