This bridge is stunning, all architectural amd white it stands out whilst also sync beautifully with it surroundings. Plus loved the way it framed the mountain behind.
A cresting wave or the backbone of a whale? This cleverly designed structure suggests both visions. The bridge is an asset to the area and invites inspection by photographers and anyone interested in design.
The photo opportunities are awesome, especially looking back towards Mt Taranaki. Well worth the walk or bike to get here and relatively easy...low level of fitness needed.
I was looking at the photos on internet during my research work for my New Zealand trip, and I kept wondering if it was one of those "more beautiful than in reality" attractions, which owe so much to a good photographer, the right angle, a little photoshop...But it isn't. It's genuinely beautiful. More than beautiful: elegant, and more so in reality than in photo. I'm glad my host took me there and gave me the opportunity to appreciate it.If you like architecture of fine engineering find the time to pay it a visit.
The world award winning bridge is a must see in the beautiful city of New Plymouth. Stand framed in the arch of the bridge with Mount Egmont/Taranaki in the background. Lean on the edge and be mesmerized by the clear water of the river flowing into the sea. Pure tranquility to soothe the soul.I live in this wonderful city and the beauty of the entire province is something all travelers from overseas should come and witness.
A lovely bridge in a delightful setting. Well worth a diversion for photos & a picnic. Difficult to find on maps, but the information office were helpful in pointing us in the tight direction.
It is something to see, really enjoyed the effort put into the structure. Recommend it as a must see when in New Plymouth
Te Rewa Rewa Bridge New Plymouth, Taranaki is an amazing sight..As a child growing up in New Plymouth, there was something missing near this area. Te Rewa Rewa Bridge shows a lot of potential. It is a coastal walkway and a very good place to take photos of Mt Egmont when the mountain wants to be seen. .I believe its one of Taranaki's best kept secrets. The design is stunning. Any visitor to New Plymoiuth should visit Te Rewa Rewa Bridge.
This amazing bridge is a bit of a surprise on the coastal walkway. Looks beautiful all in white and a stunning design, bonus is that from one end on a clear day, Mt Egmont/Taranaki is framed at the other end of the bridge.
This bridge makes for a nice photo opportunity. From near or far looks very interesting and can faintly see Mt Taranaki in the background when we went there. There were heaps of people cycling and walking past when we went there late on Sunday Easter weekend. The overall setting was nice and worth a visit.
A well maintained park with a very modern and photogenic bridge. A good place to visit to get a lovely photo of Taranaki
One of the most beautiful bridges in an amazing setting. The walkway around this area is really nice. Toward town it goes through dunes. Away from town it goes through paddocks and past beautiful empty beaches. A bike ride past East End, Fitzroy, Te Rewa Rewa and on to Bell Block on a nice sunny clear day...well it doesn't get much better than that.
This would rate among one of the nicest bridges I have ever seen. Ive used photos of it on cellphone and computer screensavers. It looks great from any angle and makes a great photo opportunity. It adds another dimension to the coatal walkway. Thumbs up to NPDC. Siutated near to Lake Rotomanu, a great lake for watersports or just having a picnic.
Go on a clear day and you can see Mt Taranaki framed by the bridge.
The coastal walkway/cycleway has been extended recently and now includes crossing a most remarkable award winning pedestrain bridge. In 2011 an international design competition voted this the best small bridge in the world.Walkers/cyclists cross the Waiwhakaiho river through styalised whale ribs.Of significant height the bridge structure is aligned to give magnificebt views of Mt taranaki.A truly " must do" while in new Plymouth.
