I went out to Ogo a few days ago with a friend and wasn't really sure what to expect. I figured it would be fun, but wasn't sure if it would be worth the price. My friend and I did 3 rides...we did the the dry straight together in one sorb, the sidewinder together, and then raced in separate wet zorbs down the straight track. IT WAS SO FUN!!! I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did, but boy did they prove me wrong! Not only was the zorbing itself a blast, but the whole experience was awesome. Staff were super friendly and helpful, there were hot tubs to warm up in afterwards, and mini heaters in the changing rooms which we definitely needed as it was pretty cold. Overall, a fantastic day that is appropriate for anyone between the age of 6 and 60+.
After reading all the really good reviews on OGO's service, we were very keen to try them. But upon pulling up in the carpark we spied the closed sign was out in front of the main building and hardly any people were around. We weren't even sure if the place was open. We rocked up anyway, still keen, but were just ignored by the technicians (who were milling about) and the counter assistant who was consumed with another bunch of tourists (they'd already ridden and were just looking at their photos). Maybe just a "Hi guys, be with you in a second", or "Take a look, let us know if you have any questions" might have helped.Sorry guys, we were on a tight schedule and the place down the road offered a better price and more variety in rides :(
Nice helpful staff, hot tubs available if it's cold, an exhilarating experience. We incorporated this excursion for my son's 10th birthday, absolutely no regrets! Minor suggestion: sell women's 'v' neck stretch 't shirts' too!
amazing way to start the day. We had so much fun rolling down the hill in the ogo. it was like being on a giant water slide, as you slide inside the ball all the way down the hill. The great thing after that is you get to sit in the hot spa pool for a while to warm up!
First thing to do before going here is plan ahead - your going to get very wet, so bring your bathers a towel and dry clothes to change into. There are facilities to get changed and they are clean and tidy. There are also toilets which were also clean and tidy. The staff are excellent, young, welcoming, friendly and informative. Treated a couple of old guys (50 and 48) very well. Don't think we are the normal demographic for this sort of thing. Thumbs up to a well run attraction.Did both rides, one comes straight down the hill and the other winds down the hill from side to side. The first thing to say is once you have done it you will want to do it again & probably gain. Its a hoot, fun thrilling and mostly hilarious.Yes in reality its all over quick but I think for $70 - two rides it was well worth the experience. There is a little shop with some snacks and cold drinks. You can also sit in the spa while you wait or just to refresh. We only did the two rides but would have gone again, unfortunately a bus load of people had arrived during our second ride and that meant a long wait that we did not have time for.Negatives - none really its an experience.
I just did this today and had a great time. The staff are very attentive and reassuring for those that are a bit scared! We tried all the rides and the sidewinder H2OGO is definitely the best. You just can't stop laughing the whole way down. Definitely a must do in RotoVegas!!!!
we went zorbing with the whole family. everyone loved it! Such fun! we had 2-3 ppl per zorb which made it even better! Definitely a must do.
I came to Rotorua not intending to do Zorbing as the concept didn't sound overly fun but my travel companions talked me into it and man, am I glad they did. My girlfriend and I did a shared zorb on both tracks and it was one of the best and funnest things I did throughout all of New Zealand. Trying to stand up with someone else in the ball with you was a hilarious experience. They also gave you a gopro to take with you in the zorb which captured some brilliant footage. Don't do what I was going to do and miss out on this fantastic experience!
Fantastic company. Great, friendly service. Had a highly enjoyable time! Would definitely go back! Very much worth the money, and good value for money!
We'd done the original Zorb before and tried to go back on this day and do it again. They were closing an hour before their published close time and shooed up out. So we went to Ogo - MUCH better, great service, longer and better runs, cooler staff and more value for money.
Great fun and the children loved it. It really is a must do in NZ. The staff were friendly and helpful and FUN!! Would do it again and again. Great for all ages!
The ride was better then I thought it would be.the operator says that not many people can stand up all the way down the hill.i gladly excepted the challenge. It beat me and I twisting and turning and enjoying the ride down.the staff were great, very polite and professional.Only bad thing was...I was about to hope in the spa after the ride and saw another male with clear open wounds and large grazes on his arm get it before me.A big health issue there.I did notify someone about it but didnt hang around to find out what had happened.all in all it's definitely worth a go.
As far as the zorbing is concerned, great fun and the people who run it do it well and are pleasant. Unfortunately my wife and I decided that it is too expensive for what it is. Effectively £20 for one run lasting 30 seconds, It is over very quickly and if you want the photos/DVD you have to pay even more (roughly £15 to £25). For the original price we think the photos should be thrown in for free making it more worth it. Also they only really provide photos on cd, unless you have an sd card. A cd will break in our bag before we finish travelling. The go pro DVD wouldn't be worth it for us as it misted for half the recording. We tried to stay in the hot tubs (nice touch) for as long as possible to justify the fee. Good changing facilities. Do it if money is in good supply but if you're a budgeting backpacker, give it a miss and save the money for something else
This is another must do in NZ!! Where else can you take a ride down the hill at high speed in a washing machine with a go pro strapped to your head. The team do a great job at making the whole ride fun with neat little details like grassy benches to sit on or a hot tub soak between rides. There is a fast straight ride and a zig zag route that are both quite different and both worth the time - we did them both. There is a second operator that is a little cheaper but the rides are shorter and you definitely get what you pay for with OGO.
We can't say enough good things about OGO and OGO Rotorua in particular. The ride itself was an amazing experience that had us cackling madly the whole way down the hill -- both times! -- and the staff was nice, helpful and friendly. It was worth every penny. Definitely go for the wet version; it's worth the hassle of changing clothes.
