tai's weather rock

The rock hangs outside the dive shop at Pacific Resort Rarotonga which we stayed at, so we saw the rock, which is cute, but I wouldn't go out of my way to seek it out.

Take a look at it if you are in the bay it is quiet clever,we happened to walk past it on the way to the bar

Do not go out of your way to see this! It is a cheesy gimmick created in probably half an hour in order to get something "notable" on the map. However, such is Rarotonga island, that if you're here for more than a day you're bound to come across it—and enjoy a wry smile—because there's so (blissfully) little to see and do there, and the island is so tiny. A bit of corny fun.

This gave me a bit of a laugh! and when you think about it, it was reliable! good photo opportunity Think I need to make one of these at home!!!

Gave us a great laugh and a must for a photo and more importantly the rock was not gone if so we would have been in a hurricane

As said, very clever idea. Never took much notice the first day we walked past - thinking it was a serious weather prediction. But looked again the next time and its pretty novel! Worth a stop for a photo.

Very clever, I had seen this before when I stayed at the Pacific resort some years ago. I had meant to make my own in New Zealand but like all good intentions I have yet to do it. Who knows now I have seen it again I might just do it'

I only just noticed the rock as we walked up the beach. Very funny and of course very true. Worth taking a photo to add to your collection. Might even make one for my backyard.

This is the funniest thing and accurate too. When rock is wet it's raining and swinging it's windy. We had both unfortunately.

Found it as we strolled along the beach up from our accomodation. I wouldn't make a special trip to see it, but if your walking along the beach at Muri, it will give you a chuckle.

My son had never seen this before so he thought it was fun. The weather rock was a short stroll from where we stayed.

What can I say to add to this free attraction! Tai's Rock sits like an ancient warrior guarding the interior island, and well prepared to tell its story to those prepared to stop, look and listen. Just like our olden days symbols, this iconic attraction is simple, funnny, cheap to operate, and never far wrong. Local humour epitomised through a volcanic rock! Just as well it's too big to move, I'll bet many visitors would love Tai's weather guide as their trip souvenir. If visitors are seeking out evidence of qurky Raro humour, this attraction is freely available and can be found stuck rock-hard near the Pacific Resort's beachbar-cafe. Every time I pass this gem-stone I have a chuckle.
