Cascading river, easy walking and biking path, convenient parking. Very popular spot for local residents and their dogs also. Short walk from small local shopping area.
My son and I happened upon these falls quite by accident. As we drove north on 73 towards Quebec City, he glanced out his passenger-side window and asked whether they were the Montmorency Falls. I then made a mental note to later find them on our trip. There's no gondola, like the one at Montmorency -- but, there's no constant bleeding of the wallet either. Parking and access to the falls are completely free. And you'll find a nicely marked and manicured walking trail that takes you to the top/crest of the falls. So, take a ride south of the city, just over the bridge, and spend a couple hours to enjoy the walk and the views.
While not as well known as nearby Montmorceny falls, this waterfall is quite beautiful, surrounded by a very pleasant park, and FREE. Don't miss the suspension bridge, and the opportunity to get down to the water.
This is a great park for taking a walk or having a picnic. There are many picnic tables and a reasonably priced snack bar. Although there are many stairs on the main walkway, there is a paved path for strollers that has no stairs. There are often many fishermen there as well. My husband enjoys checking out the small functioning electrical power plant that visitors can watch working through the gigantic windows.
There are a few trails for walking and the view is beautiful. A nice place to go to even if you are just passing through the area. It's just off the 73 but really close to highway 20 is convenient.
We enjoyed the beauty of the falls and the great walking trails. Lots of steps to climb and wearing the right footwear and being in shape helps! Many great photo opportunities, so be sure to take along your camera!
There's some great hiking trails along the falls so be sure to bring some comfortable shoes to enjoy some spectacular views. Enjoyed the bridge as well.
The site is fairly naturel, like being in the woods. It's really nice to walk around, but you need to be in relatively good shape because there are lots of steps on the trails. I love going across the foot bridge and then following the trail down to the water's edge near the bottom of the falls.
The fall is pretty big and lot of water, it looks like a mini Nigeria Fall when passing by on the highway. One thing good about it is that you can actually walk down to the water if you want to. And when you cross over on the bridge, you can get the full view of the fall. There are many picture spot along the way. It is a nice place to stop by if you are heading to the twon, Levis.
Not a huge site to see, but well worth the few minutes it took go see the falls and the suspension bridge over them.
While these falls are not quite as imposing as Montmorency, they are really beautiful, and there is a lovely little walk around the area. A south shore must-see.
