Went here for my dad's 85th birthday. He enjoys the harness races. We had quite a gang with us. We all had the buffet. The food was not good. They had breakfast items..tough cold sausages and crumbly srambled eggs. The salads were okay and the baked ham okay. Everything else poor! We actally went back the following year hoping it would have improved but we were wron! Never going back there. Hopefully the other buffet and restaurant are better.

This casino is one of the very few which are still fun. It is smaller, pays well, and is basically friendly and pleasant. The slot attendants are very efficient and kind, the servers in cafe are competent and very friendly as well. The food is well prepared and the portions are generous. The Slovaki competes with good Greek restaurants and the meatloaf is like "grandma's". Very good. Visit them for a fun time and good food!

I had never been to the track before...and ended up there on a whim. Admittedly we were interested in a buffet...and seeing as how there are two open on race nights we decided to give it a try.We couldn't get into The Clubhouse (reservations highly advised) but we managed to get into the Homestretch. The food was decent and the staff serving the food were friendly and fun to chat with. The serving staff seemed stretched and at times it took a little bit of time to get the attention of our server. With that said...watching the races, people watching (trust me, as newbies in the place we were fodder for other people watchers as they were for us!), learning about the sport and betting and listening to some of the veterans around us passed the time wonderfully! The staff outside of the Buffets left something to be desired...we stopped in prior to this particular evening to ask about the buffets and the staff at the front desk wasn't sure about if there were buffets...and if there were buffets when they were open. We found that once we navigated our way through the non-buffet staff we had a fun time. Definitely worth the time!

I take my mom there every time I visit and play the slots, so much fun and well lay out. I like the horse buggy race and the buffet is outstanding.

We had a family/friends memorial get together in February for an Aunt who had passed away and lived close to this facility. It was was chosen as she loved to visit the racetrack and attached Casino. A fitting location catered by their great staff.

The buffet is very good. A mixture of food and the price is affordable.Lots of parking and entertainment is fun also.

I live in Cloverdale and visit Fraser Downs a couple times a year. Its a fun night out, if you dont drink. It is so difficult to get a drink. They are ALWAYS understaffed. The staff is always saying "they give us too many tables" I wish they would figure out, how much more money they could make. It's been like this forever! Buffet is consistently good

Older but nicely laid out casino compared to the Cascade Casino in Langley. Great to meet a friend for the lunch with a reasonable price while watching the horses practice. Once lunch is done we go downstairs to the casino where it is not over crowded More laid back environment during the day time

My girlfriend & I went this past week for a fun evening out.We decided to have dinner also rather than just gamble........It was some special night where you spent $10 on dinner, then you got a scratch card for free money to play with.We were totally impressed with the dinners we had,the menu choices & the prices.I had meatloaf with mashed potatoes & mushroom gravy & some very fresh green beans...........very tasty! My buddy had perogies that had all the trimmings, she was totally impressed! We will definitely go back, even if its only for dinner. We had been to the horseraces before & had the buffet which is excellent too.

If a person lives locally and wants to play slots for a couple of hours this is a good place to go. If you live in another community that already has a casino set up its probably not worthwhile coming out of your way to Cloverdale to play.Fraser Downs is easy to get to, on the corner of 176th Street and 60th Avenue and there is lots of free parking. For horseracing, Standardbred harness racing, check the website for dates. No racing between mid-May to mid-August and usually twice a week the rest of the year, probably Friday night and either Saturday or Sunday may be afternoon or night, and if there's a stat holiday there might be racing in the afternoon. Fraser Downs makes it very difficult for patrons who only want to watch horse races and not gamble in the casino. There is no grandstand/bleacher seating. If you want a good seat to watch the races you have to buy the buffet dinner or purchase a table that shows simulcast racing. If you want to watch the racing and not shell out $30 for a buffet meal it means standing outside by the racetrack fence or standing inside near the door/window and looking out. There is a casual restaurant in this area with extremely bad, slow service and if you sit at a table here you won't see the racetrack. There are usually 2 cashiers set up to take money for wagering on the racing. Fraser Downs focus is on the casino and those patrons instead of the horseracing and having nice viewing areas for clients who don't want to purchase a $30 buffet in the Clubhouse. There is no live entertainment at this location, no show acts, but occasionally there might be a band playing for a special event.

Went to homestretch for the races and the smorgasbord . Really fresh good food. Fun watching the harness racing too. $2.00 minimum bet. Staff really nice. Would go again. I had a certificate as I won it at an auction. Glad we went.

Wasted an hour of my life attempting an evening with my man at the clubhouse, phoned an hour ahead , booked a table for two... Arrived and was told that nothing had been booked ( apparently I had spoken to a server ) was offered the cheaper buffet ( have had it before GROSS !) turned that down . Then the crazy hostess had the audacity to ask my name incase I called to attempt to reserve a table again... Seriously?? After wasting my time and money on fuel to get there .. You seriously think I would attempt another waisted evening due to crappy management? No thanks , try anywhere else

I find the buffet over priced for what it has to offer. Menu items are okay. Fun if you can get a window seat.

We have been going to Fraser Down for years for dinner and the races. Food is good and you have entertainment. You do not have to be a gambler to enjoy a day with the horses.

Was there just yesterday (Aug 3rd.) Went for the slot machines. I didn't win anything big but they did announce several people who did. Anywhere from $500 to over $1000. The casino area is a little smaller but they do have several new machines. They have specials like seniors day etc. check web page. They also have horse racing you can bet on. They're food is good any time I've eaten there. (except the buffet in the Homestretch) It is also close to where I live so convenient. I go whenever i can.
